Last year during a sermon, Atu asked the ladies to leave cause he was going to go intence with his sermon on sex. All the ladies left except 3 sat there n then he said one thing that has really trouble me n i wish to discuss with you all is this thing that many couple are doing in there bedroom. He said na kubu na ka duka, au sa vaka tabuya vei kemuni na noqu lewa ni lotu na kubu. Kua sara he said, na ka ga em kubuti na ice cream. I was so shocked when he said this including those 3 ladies in the service. To hear this type of sermon, which i have never heard before makes me wonder where is this man taking his church too. Thats rite i wrote that last year thanks Solivakasama.. As they say sa sivia ga na dokadoka sa tu sara na madua. Even the bible says God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble. Since Atu has proudly boasted himself little did he knows that he is being opposed from above. When above opposes, Atu gets exposed.. thats why his wisdom is gone as he and his wife starts to expose themselves infront of others. This wot happens when preachers like Atu attack other preachers, churches n people. He is not diffrent to any sinners out there as we all sinners n fall short of God’s glory. He shud stick to his bible and check his own heart out first before pointing fingers on others..All i can say is Atu is the pharasee of the 21st century. Just heard he collapsed 2 weeks ago on stage n was rushed to hospital.. ummm Atu masu mada!!! Lots of good stuff happened and is still happening in the Charismatic movement (lots of off-the-wall stuff too) and the different expressions of it in different churches. I think we should be careful about generalising. Maybe we should just be more specific instead of rubbishing the whole charismatic movement.
As for your recommendations on readings in an earlier blog, I do have a copy of Greg Palast’s “The Best Democracy Money Cant Buy” which I enjoyed reading. His claims about the IMF and World Bank and G9 etc makes you think. I do however, find some of his other claims a bit over the top with his evidence not quiet convincing.

Yeah – the grassroots – you think we can use the common Fijians again, like they were used by the Methodist Church in 1987 and 2000.
Like Rabuka used the Fijians for his “indigenous cause”, and than there was Speight with his “indigenous cause” and the grassroots crowd got suckered once again.
This time, I think those common folks have learned their lesson – and the church, which was involved in both the coups, ain’t gonna have the grassroots crowd out in the street.
So what you are left with is 3 or 4 SDL buggers running around, and several loser types from the NFP, including that NFP dude heading the Fiji Law Society and the extremists elements in the Methodist church – that ain’t no grassroots types to me.
You see – you need the trade unions to join in if you are to bring down the regime – and the trade unions ain’t gonna do it. You need the small merchant type organizations to join in – and who do you think they support. You need the big business to oppose the regime – and who do you think the Hotel Owners group support. You need the lawyers group to have a backbone – like those lawyers in Pakistan – and what did our lawyers do – they signed under the new order. You need religious group to join in – and no religious group, except the SDL affiliated Methodists have come out against the regime. Those civil servants – they all need their jobs – so they ain’t going on strike or join some go slow programme. Then there is the Farmers Union, you think they will help. Those land owners, have they stood up for Qarase – hell no, they are renewing their leases – business as usual.
So you guys, what grassroots are you talking about. The majority of the folks in Fiji, even those who may be opposed to this regime – they are not willing to put their ass on the line to reinstall Qarase or some other Methodists supported group – like it was in 1987 and 2000.
Most folks seem to be willing to sit it out and see what happens with the new constitution, the 2014 election or where all this leads to – and if things get bad, I am sure the grassroots will step in to make the necessary changes – but they ain’t doing that anytime soon.
What you buggers should be looking at is some good leadership – people who don’t have their own agenda like the SDL folks – and those two NFP guys – Pramod Rae and Attar Singh – they are a liability as far as getting any Indo votes in the next election. It was funny how Qarase put Attar Singh up there to lead the Democracy Movement.
Unless we see some good, independent Fijian leaders coming up on the scene soon, Frank might get his boys elected in the 2014 election – just because Fiji’s population is 60% Fijians, that does not mean that the next election would be a easy with for Qarase, or that loud-mouth lady who will be taking over from Qarase.

Grassroots my ass – just because you say so does not make it so – next you will be telling me that the bible says so also. You have to do an analysis.
You look at dictatorships worldwide and you look at the people who have stood up to those dictatorship – sure there are some cultural differences there – but don’t tell me that the situation here is so different – or are you one of those idiots who believe that the Fijian race is gods gift to humanity – something very special, unlike other people.
You see, the Fijian people were suckered into supporting the previous coups because they were led to believe that that those coups were for the indigenous cause. They seem to have realized that there were suckered into that and that is why the reluctance for them to join into any protests.
As far as as the Fijian population is concerned it seems that the only thing that has changed is the person in the driver’s seat – from Qarase to Frank – and under those circumstances, nothing much has changed for them and that is the reason they are not willing to hit the streets.
That is how the Fijian politics has been – the common folks got out every five years and voted for a party that the GCC told them to vote for. There was not further participation – mostly because that is how the Fijian leadership wanted it. If the grassroots were to get involveld, which they should have, we would not have had all this thieving that has been going on since independence. That explains why Frank was able to take the control so easily – all he had to do was get into the driver’s seat.
So cut out the crap about you know the Yavusa and Matagali and all that – if that was the case, they would have been out there the day Frank told those chiefs to go drink homebrew under some mango thee.
and BTW – you seem to suggest that the “”grassroots Taukei” – as one people – what about this conflict as an intra-Fijian conflict.
So cut out the over simplification – that the grassroots Taukei are going to realize one morning what has happened and that is it.
And yeap – some of you idiots seem to come up with this crap all the time – since you perceive that the other guy is not a Fijian so he does not know shit – not only in discussions like this – they pull the same crap in the parliament/senate etc – the moment someone starts to talk about things Fijian – he/she is told to shut up – and that is why a small group Fijians have been ripping the rest of them – and if someone questions them – then the non-Fijians are told to shut because they don’t know what they are talking about, and if a Fijian questions that, he is told that he did not have a proper upbringing for raising the question and that he should shut up.

I am so happy not all Fijians are sucked into this kind of preaching. I have witnessed one of their so called worships. We were in disbelief as we saw these followers get on one knee and kiss the ground like how the muslims do. the funny thing is,this was done after a command was given by the preacher whilst the sun was going down. I call that ‘sun god worshipping’. I mean they were literally on their knees, with hands held in front of them, then bending forward to kiss the ground.
It’s frightening to see what some of our fellow countrymen are duped into nowadays. I hope and pray for the sake of us and our children that people will find their way back to the true teachings of the bible.
Otherwise, we will all be judged for judging and accusing each other.

I heard Atu in one of his sermons saying that through God’s blessing for his work he has been able to pay off the mortgage to a house and bill of sales to 2 vehicles during the past months.Where did he get that kind of money in such a short time?It did not drop from heaven.It is from the 1/10th tithe that his followers are also required “to give freely” at every sermon.Whilst finance for the crusade including funding for paid TV and radio channels are with compliments of taxpayers funds from the Police Budget Atu has been pocketing the tithes.
He has also predicted to win over 200,000 people to be his followers within a short while.But when we look at his crowd now they are just the same people who have been part of breakaway groups from AOG,Every Home and Methodists.

There are many things happening in the Christian world that is opposite to the character of Christ himself…and is very much manifesting the devil.
The devil knows his days are numbered, which is why he is trying to confuse the people. What he has failed by torture persecution, he now tries by deception. He now wears a priest’s garb, and is using the name of Jesus. I tell you he knows the scripture far better than most of the pastors. In fact he knows God even better, for he has seen God – it is why he was envious, which led to his fall.
Why did Jesus say – not all those who call me Lord! Lord..? Do not think He was referring to the heathens, pagan worshippers, Hindus or Muslims! He was referring to the professed Christian world – people who think they’re Christians.
Christians shoould be preaching the truth of God’s gospel, which was the same from the fall of Adam to Moses, to the prophets, to Jesus and the apostles, to us the Christians of today.

So, who is the real God in these cases, Almighty Jehovah or Money?

The New Methodist seem to target the youth who are the future of Fiji. The new election date now is 5 years away. Children now 13 years old will be eligible to vote at 18. This is the target group. Adults converting to New Methodists are a bonus. Some older patriarchs of the other denominations standing fast on their faith and forbidding their children and kin towards this new movement will pass away within that time (is this what is hoped?), strongholds on kids broken as a result. The bainimaramaman has been quoted saying he will stand in the next election. This seem to indicate a little confidence that the plan is working if one is to assume that the new methos are coup apologists and this movement is slowly but surely growing. Can we also assume that either or both the Teleniman and his brother Atu will also stand for election with popular vote coming from their followers. So can I assume that this New Methodist Movement is really in actual fact a 5 year election campaign.

I think its about time we come up with ‘healthy criticisms’ that can build ourselves up and not TEAR each other down! To ALL New Methodists that have contributed to this website, if you really think that your Religion is taking you on the right path?…then live the life and speak the language! You don’t need to succumb to outside pressure just because your President has been crucified for what he preaches. If what he is preaching is from God, then you don’t have to fear nothing nor do you need to get heated up so quickly by these comments…UNLESS if the accusation is TRUE!

hi. i am so sick and fed up of these new methodists. i have heard a pastor call our police officers, who keep our streets safe, lamulamu. i tell u this, u people r the lamulamu ones. what is with the bodyguards beside u wen preaching? huh? recently a talatala’s conference was held where the police force had to cater for it. the force is here to serve and to protect, not to cater and using money which rightfully belongs to the officers. ($17,000 was pulled from the police budget). to make matters worse atu’s brother, waisea vulaono, who came in on the last day(three day conference), started his “vunau” by pointing fingers at the true methodist church. which caused alot of hurt and anger. to the point where people just got up n walked out. i really wished someone had started a riot. i mean u guys (atu’s peeps) broke away, so y do u keep dissing the methodist church? it’s not Godlike. for all of u great supporters of this evil church, u will never hear anything about God. this church only believe in “items” as in dances( with the congregation whistling and screaming, like bob marleys in the house), tukuni yalo( wat the lord has done for “me” and how much he has put in “my” bank account, which i believe is coming in from the tithe families give), pointing fingers at churches, which is a must, they cannot go without this. lastly the unnecessary screaming, disturbing the neighbours, i could go on and on but there is just not enough words to describe these assholes. we ought to rid ourselves from these kind of people. they piss me off so bad. forgive me for the language, and God bless Fiji.

Jesus emphasized that the false Christs will perform great signs and miracles, and will manifest terrible deception. Many Christians think that as long as they believe in ‘Jesus Christ’, they will be shielded from the deception of the last days. However, the deceit proliferates due to the fact that there are actually two Jesus Christs, not just one. Some people are deceived into following the wrong Jesus. It’s in the Bible,
2 Corinthians 11:3 & 4 NIV. “Just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.” The apostle Paul is here speaking to the Christians of the early church. He warns them concerning false apostles who were preaching about a Jesus who is not the real Jesus of the Bible. This other Jesus is a fictitious Jesus, a fabrication of the corrupt imaginations and erroneous thinking of the spurious apostles. The gospel associated with this other Jesus is a different gospel; it is not the gospel recorded in the Bible and preached by the true apostles. Further, this false gospel is accompanied by an empowerment of the spirit, but it is a counterfeit spirit, it is not the Holy Spirit of the divine Trinity.
Who are the followers of the other Jesus really serving? The answer is found in 2 Corinthians 11:13-15 NIV, “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. Is it not surprising, then, if his servants masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” The ‘other Jesus’ is a counterfeit Jesus devised by Satan, a false Jesus who can even masquerade as an angel of light.
Just prior to the day of Jesus’ Second Coming, there is going to appear visibly on Earth a great counterfeit Christ. It’s in the Bible,
2nd Thessalonians 2:3 & 4 NIV. “Don’t let any one deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.” In this profound prophecy of Last Day events, the Bible says there is going to be a rebellion, an apostasy, a great falling away from the faith. In conjunction with this apostasy, there will be an appearing of the ‘Man of Lawlessness’, also known as the ‘Man of Sin’, the Antichrist. This magnificent false Christ will set himself up in God’s temple and counterfeit the ministry of Jesus.
What will happen to this false Christ, and how will we recognize him? 2nd Thessalonians 2:8-10 NIV informs us, “And then the Lawless One will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus Christ will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. The coming of the Lawless One will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved.” The followers of the counterfeit Messiah are deceived because they refuse to love God’s truth as revealed in his Holy Bible.
Jesus emphasized that it is not enough to simply profess the “name” of the Lord in order to enter into heaven. There needs to be a “doing” of the Father’s will. It’s in the Bible, Matthew 7:21 NIV.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Jesus also declares in John 6:40 NIV, “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.” Thus there needs to be a “looking to the Son”, a contemplation upon the real Jesus, upon his life, and a belief in the words he spoke. Affirmed Jesus, John 5:24 NIV, “I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.”
Tragically, the counterfeit Christians will in all sincerity regard themselves to be genuine believers actively doing the work of Christ. They will even prophesy in the name of Jesus, cast out demons in the name of Jesus, and work miracles in his name. It’s in the Bible,
Matthew 7:22 & 23 NAS. “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ ” The followers of the false Christ practice lawlessness. They break God’s law; they disregard the commandments of Jesus. In contrast, Jesus declares in John 14:21 NKJV, “He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”

We should never be complacent and it is good to be reminded of what everyone is doing, the churches, the illegal regime, the chiefs, the leaders, the different races, the international communities etc etc because the time has come for us to fend for ourselves. We have been deserted by the churches, leaders, lawyers and anyone else that we thought would stand by us and get us out of this mess.
We should now be prepared to wait and ride this out as in the long run it will be a good lesson for all of us.
While we wait we must bear in mind the terrible lesson that was taught to the world by Hitler. Today the Germans are adamant, it will never happen again.
It doesn’t matter how one looks at reglion because it is a personal thing and reglion begins at home from one’s upbringing which should be passed down generation after generation. The bible was given to us by God to strengthen our faith brought upon by our upbringing. Each and everyone have they own interpretation of the bible and should only be used to strenghen our righteous upbringing and our faith.
Must be wondering why an Indo Fijian is making these comments, my young brother is an Anglician priest and 20 years ago my family and I converted and now practicing christianity.

This Gospel of the Kingdom
If a believer today contrasts the traditional Christian message to the simple message of Jesus recorded in the gospels, he must conclude that the two different messages are very different. It becomes apparent that the message taught and preached by Jesus and the apostles after him has been set aside and “another gospel” has been embraced and emphasized in the Church. This “other gospel” is universally received today as the orthodox Christian massage.
The Kingdom of God
The message of Jesus was the “Kingdom of God”. He declared that He had been sent to preach this message, “But He said to them, ‘I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, for I was sent for this purpose'” (Luke 4:43). As we consider the gospel account and the Biblical foundation on which it is based, we can formulate some cardinal points of this message. These include the teaching that:
1. God is establishing His direct rule or government in the earth, and this government will be manifested through Messiah (Psalms 2);
2. God will establish peace and judge (rule) the earth in righteousness (Psalms 98:9);
3. God will hold every man accountable for the deeds of this life (Ezekiel 18:4);
4. He will introduce a period of “restitution of all things” (Acts 3:21), that will ultimately result in the removal of the curse on mankind (Revelation 22:3); and finally,
5. the Messiah will return in the Glory of God (Matthew 16:27). As He does, God’s Glory will reside in Jerusalem in a way similar to the phenomenon which occurred in the wilderness as Israel came out of Egypt (Isaiah 4:5).
Some implications of these foundational points concerning the establishing of God’s kingdom include:
Every form of human government (international, national, state and local) will be abolished. Every constitution written will be voided because the government will “rest on His shoulders” (Isaiah 9:6).
Human self-determination will end. “Every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).
The false dreams and illusions of man will be extinguished completely. God is the God of reality (Jeremiah 10:10).
Israel will be the only national entity that survives in the kingdom. As God’s elect nation, it will be exalted high above all the nations for praise, fame and glory (Deuteronomy 26:19).
Jesus taught continually by parables to convey the basic message of the Kingdom. Prior to the time of Jesus, the Kingdom of God was envisioned as God’s reign in Israel in the manner that occurred during the First Temple era. God was manifested during this era through His indwelling glory in the Temple and through His anointed prophets, priests and kings. Jesus introduced a new perspective of the Kingdom of God and began to lay the foundation for the establishment of this Kingdom during His earthly ministry. It would take millennia for its complete realization.
God would rule directly through the indwelling Holy Spirit in the hearts of believers. This was the fulfillment of the prophecy spoken by Ezekiel that God would: “Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances.” (Ezekiel 36:26-27). Jesus also introduced the concept of the “Living Temple”. His body was the temple during His earthly ministry. After His ascension the church would function in this capacity. Ultimately this “Living Temple” would be established in Jerusalem just like the First Temple had been. As a “living stone” of this temple the individual believer was positioned or seated in the presence of the Living God.
Many aspects of the Kingdom of God were introduce by Jesus as He taught His disciples in parables. These aspects of the Kingdom of God began being fulfilled through the early church; they have continued to be fulfilled for almost 2000 years. The vision outlined by these parables will not be fully realized until Jesus returns and reigns in Jerusalem directly in the midst of Israel.
Another Gospel
Now today, when we consider the basic message of the Church, we hear something different from Jesus’ message of the Kingdom of God. The Church message focuses on the reconciliation of individuals to God. Paul outlined this message in his second letter to the Corinthians (II Corinthians 5:18-20). Indeed, this is a valid message for the Church to share in the midst of the nations. Nevertheless, as is obvious from our discussion of Jesus’ message, the message of reconciliation in no way encompasses the Kingdom message taught by Jesus. The Church has basically spiritualized the Kingdom message and focused on the message or vision of reconciliation, which has been fairly faithfully set forth in the nations. Every denominational group has emphasized different aspects of this message, yet it is fundamental to all branches of the Church.
Evidently, the Church determined to de-emphasize Jesus’ message and substituted the message of reconciliation in its place. There are a number of reasons for this. The message of reconciliation is a “good, positive” message causing little reproach to the one who proclaims it. The Kingdom message, on the other hand, is like a sword causing a polarization in those who hear (Matthew 10:34). The one proclaiming the Kingdom message must bear reproach.
A second reason why the Church de-emphasized the Kingdom message is that God’s Kingdom, as preached by Jesus, is intimately linked with Israel and Jerusalem. The Church succumbed to the pressure to adopt a universal identity while rejecting identity with Israel. Therefore, Jesus’ message became awkward for them. The message of reconciliation, on the other hand, was easily adapted to the universal identity.
A final reason why the message of reconciliation was emphasized so strongly by the Church is that it was in the process of forming a new world religion, Christianity, distinct from that which preceded it. Like all religions it mapped out a way to come to God. The message of reconciliation served this purpose very well. The Kingdom message was unprofitable in the formation of this new religion.
There are probably any number of other factors that influenced this transition, but these three should be sufficient to outline for us why the message of reconciliation was emphasized at the expense of the Kingdom message. Today, this whole sequence is simplified in the minds of Christians by the rationalization that the message of Paul is the highest form of revelation available to us. They proclaim that Jesus preached His message to Israel, who they claim rejected it; therefore, God anointed Paul to bring forth this new universal message. Hence, the Church vision is logically built on Paul’s message or letters rather than on the message of Jesus.
Today, as God has re-established the people of Israel in the Land of Israel, the Kingdom message is being preached again with a fresh anointing. With endtime events rapidly being fulfilled, we are begin ning to focus on the King and His message of the Kingdom. Indeed, this in itself is a sign of the end. Jesus proclaimed, “This gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all nations, and then the end shall come” (Matthew 24:14). Jesus was not speaking of the “gospel of reconciliation”, which has been set forth by the Church for almost two millennia. He was speaking of the message of the Kingdom of God. The message of reconciliation could be preached to every living soul and we would not necessarily be nearer the goal of seeing the kingdom established. It is the message of the Kingdom that must be proclaimed.

You have commented well and have shown good knowledge of the bible. When you mentioned Church, meaning denomination or any group that claims to serve God. The Kingdom of God that you mentioned does not go with the principle of the church that you also mentioned. The Kingdom of God will only relate to the principle of the church if the interpretation of the church is well understood. The church mentioned in the bible is different from the church we know of today. When we compare the church we know today and the kingdom of God it will never relate.
Please check the meaning of church in the bible and how it relates to the kingdom of God and reply back if you see any difference.

My brother to respect the word of God we have to live according to his word; which is written in the b ible for me and you to read, digest and understand it and live according to it. I am short fall of his glory and Im trying my best to be there everyday.
I can have a many bible well look after but if the words inside is not been read and the words of god is not practice in our daily lifes its a big mistake.

Bula Nikita. Show us where it is mentioned in the Holy Bible that thou shall not drink grog, kava, ‘awa, ‘ava, yaqona, sakau, niqona, Piper methysticum, etc etc. Remember ‘grog not alcohol or wine’. Tell me something new pliz, I know that the ‘yaqona’ mentioned in the Ai Vola Tabu is the literal translation for ‘strong drink’.
Ok to help you with this task, the following extract might help:
Scripture has much to say regarding the drinking of alcohol (Leviticus 10:9; Numbers 6:3; Deuteronomy 29:6; Judges 13:4, 7, 14; Proverbs 20:1; 31:4; Isaiah 5:11, 22; 24:9; 28:7; 29:9; 56:12). However, Scripture does not necessarily forbid a Christian from drinking beer, wine, or any other drink containing alcohol. In fact, some Scriptures discuss alcohol in positive terms. Ecclesiastes 9:7 instructs, “Drink your wine with a merry heart.” Psalm 104:14-15 states that God gives wine “that makes glad the heart of men.” Amos 9:14 discusses drinking wine from your own vineyard as a sign of God’s blessing. Isaiah 55:1 encourages, “Yes, come buy wine and milk…”
What God commands Christians regarding alcohol is to avoid drunkenness (Ephesians 5:18). The Bible condemns drunkenness and its effects (Proverbs 23:29-35). Christians are also commanded to not allow their bodies to be “mastered” by anything (1 Corinthians 6:12; 2 Peter 2:19). Drinking alcohol in excess is undeniably addictive. Scripture also forbids a Christian from doing anything that might offend other Christians or encourage them to sin against their conscience (1 Corinthians 8:9-13). In light of these principles, it would be extremely difficult for any Christian to say he is drinking alcohol in excess to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31).
Jesus changed water into wine. It even seems that Jesus drank wine on occasion (John 2:1-11; Matthew 26:29). In New Testament times, the water was not very clean. Without modern sanitation, the water was often filled with bacteria, viruses, and all kinds of contaminants. The same is true in many third-world countries today. As a result, people often drank wine (or grape juice) because it was far less likely to be contaminated. In 1 Timothy 5:23, Paul was instructing Timothy to stop drinking the water (which was probably causing his stomach problems) and instead drink wine. In that day, wine was fermented (containing alcohol), but not necessarily to the degree it is today. It is incorrect to say that it was grape juice, but it is also incorrect to say that it was the same thing as the wine commonly used today. Again, Scripture does not forbid Christians from drinking beer, wine, or any other drink containing alcohol. Alcohol is not, in and of itself, tainted by sin. It is drunkenness and addiction to alcohol that a Christian must absolutely refrain from (Ephesians 5:18; 1 Corinthians 6:12).
Alcohol, consumed in small quantities, is neither harmful nor addictive. In fact, some doctors advocate drinking small amounts of red wine for its health benefits, especially for the heart. Consumption of small quantities of alcohol is a matter of Christian freedom. Drunkenness and addiction are sin. However, due to the biblical concerns regarding alcohol and its effects, due to the easy temptation to consume alcohol in excess, and due to the possibility of causing offense and/or stumbling of others, it is usually best for a Christian to abstain entirely from drinking alcohol.
So, as you can see from the extract above, the writer thinks that its best for a Christian to avoid drinking alcohol. Key word here: ‘its best for a Christian to avoid’, but then again, this is just somebody’s opinion, not our Good Lord. No where in the Bible it is stated that we are not allowed to drink any alcoholic drink /wine at all, let alone grog, kava, ‘awa, ‘ava, yaqona, sakau, niqona or Piper methysticum.

Wow.. I just wanted to share my story with you.
I first came into contact with this group through a cousin of mine who had been appointed a minister.
At first we were quite amazed this cousin was known to everyone to be a what we like to deem “sperm donor” and “womanise”.
Thinking he had seen the Light and using his own personal stories to lure us, our family then started strongly associating with this group, opening our doors as a venue for their outreaches and exhausting funds and what not in the glimpse of a “Promised Life”.
Months passed and the New Methodist fire was burning along, a particular sunday afternoon we gathered after the service and were allocated designated addresses and places to park when we got there.. we were all assigned boxfulls of dvd to hand out in this our “outreaching”.
Off we went to the address on the paper.. as we got close to our point of interest..we were surprised to find a high school.. deserted… or so we thought.. but alas there was people in the School Hall meeting for the sunday services.. we then rang the senior pastor to confirm if iformation was right… for an hour and a half we stood in the carpark of this fijian a.o.g service and handed them dvds…

My anger was fuelled by the fact that they even had the nerve to go outside other churchs and minister as they seem to call it through a megaphone to these the lost.
Anyway, I wonder if Pastor Atu has recovered from his major stroke and paralysis?… can anyone update me… just for my curiosity..

Isa the noise of Atu and Rejieli has died down….no more broadcasts via radio or tv. Teleni too has resigned…no more police crusades @ Sukuna Park or Police Stations. No more shouting swear words to police officers who did not follow his orders…..which was un-Christian in nature! Went past NM HQ in Votualevu last week…very sad to hear what pple talk about Atu and co. at the supermarket across the road….ia sa vuku na Kalou ni vunia na ka se va’evei Atu Vulaono kei Rejieli Vulaono….sa qai tobo tu ko Van Damme Vulaono!
