This is what we’re talking about. It has ben almost two years now they ae beginning to BELIEVE that they are IT…HELP!!! and…

When and who decided that is BNT be “activated at times when important national issues need extensive consultations on a collective basis?”

This is an illegal entity who does not have any powers whatsoever to do anything, let alone consult on important national issues.

I SAY, IF PARAMOUNT CHIEFS ATTEND…THE ONLY THING THEY SHOULD DEMAND IS ELECTIONS ASAP…IF NO DIALOGUE…THEY SHOULD WALK, IF THEY ARE REAL CHIEFS AND HAVE THE TRUE INTERESTS OF THE PEOPLE AT HEART. SINCE THE PEOPLE CANNOT STAGE CIVIL PROTESTS, THE CHIEFS SHOULD THIS ON OUR BEHALF AT THIS ILLEGAL BNT MTG…WHAT SAY???

    Fiji chief’s meeting deferred
    24/11/2008
A proposed meeting for Fiji chiefs or Bose Levu ni Turaga (BNT) has been rescheduled to allow the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo to be present, the interim Government has announced.

It’s been confirmed that the meeting, due to be held on December 9 and 10 has been rescheduled for December 16 and 17.

Interim minister for Indigenous Affairs Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said while the GCC is recognized under the Constitution and the Fijian Affairs Act to be at the apex of the Fijian administration, Government is aware and accepts that the membership of the reconstituted GCC is currently being processed and the council cannot be convened.

“Given the need to consult widely with the Vanua, Government is confident that the BNT given its composition, is the most appropriate forum for this and which will also ensure that the matters discussed will appropriately filter down right to the village level.

“Government wishes to make it clear that the BNT is not a substitute for the GCC as each have their own specific roles, functions and membership, as is evident from past proceedings, circumstance dictate the appropriate forum for consultation and discussion and under the circumstances, the BNT is the most appropriate forum to deal with the issues at hand,” Ratu Epeli said.

He added that the Bose ni Turaga is activated at times when important national issues need extensive consultations on a collective basis.

The meeting schedules are as follows:

    i) Monday 15th – Assembly
    ii) Tuesday 16th-17th Meeting
    iii) Thursday 18th – Dispersal

Meanwhile, Rewa high chief, Ro Teimumu Kepa, says the interim Government’s suspension of the GCC was “humilitating” and the plan to have interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama dialogue with the tradition leaders next month is “hilarious”.

This is hilarous!!! Seems to me that those around him actually think the pig is stupid and are laughing at him [“let him think we are laughing with him”], while the pig is laughing coz he thinks these people are so stupid for believing him and laughing with him. Ho ho ho!

No end to this idiosyncracy, who’s laughing at who, let’s all laugh with/at them for this ridiculous lie we have lived since 5/12/06. Poor civil servants who have to do the dirty job of defending/explaining the indefensible, after the pig has snucked out back to the sty, let the civilies deal with the bullshit budget. Ho ho ho! Vakalolomataka nomudou bula Tikolevu and co!!!

  3. FijiGirl Says:

SV – could 5/12/08 be the day to call for public protest?

It’ll have been 2 years, the pig shows no signs of moving, Tui’s one-man protest caused a HUGE uproar with the junta – imagine if hundreds or even thousands of us took a similar initiative?

    Thoughts?

    God bless Fiji

  4. Mark Manning Says:

Fiji will be absolutely broke before Fijians realise it’s time to protest , but it’s never too late .
And we won’t see these village idiots laughing once the law takes it’s true course !

  5. Anon Says:

Don’t worry FijiGirl. We are working behind the scene. We still have Fiji in out hearts. We will free Fiji and return to democracy and bring the perpetrators to task.T
God Bless you FijiGirl and SV bloggers!
