As a couple of you bloggers had mentioned earlier, the only consistency to be noted from the military junta is their INconsistency in just about everything they’ve poked their disgusting snouts in.
Thus, there is no prize for correctly guessing the outcome of this ‘speculation’ on the abrogation of the most supreme law of the land – our Constitution.
Ai-arze & gang have tried to play a game of semantics since Day 1 post 5/12, in an amateurish effort to cover-up their corrupt, dark and sinister intentions… but many of you bloggers including Victor Lal, TV & printed media journalists, et al, have consistently uncovered and exposed them right here on cyberspace and in the mainstream media.
Truth is Power! Let’s continue to give power to the people!
Which now reminds me of one of LUVfiji’s favourite war cry… One day Mafatu!!
“Interim Attorney General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has rubbished speculations that Fiji’s leader will soon abrogate the Constitution. This follows a statement by deposed Leader of Opposition Mick Beddoes to the media recently, saying he heard that the Constitution will be changed on October 10, during Independence Day celebrations. Certain lawyers who preferred anonymity told Fijilive that they have also heard of plans to replace the Constitution.
Sayed-Khaiyum did not out rightly deny the rumour except saying that “it is most unfortunate that he (Beddoes) only engages in speculative comments and negativity”.
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama can not be reached for a comment. Meanwhile, Beddoes said the only alternative to legalising the proposed People’s Charter is to abrogate the Constitution.
“I’m not saying this as a statement of fact but I won’t be surprised if they do it,” he said. Fiji’s President Ratu Josefa Iloilo had mandated the interim Government to take Fiji forward and uphold the 1997 Constitution”.
