Commonwealth sticks to March date

Bloggers, good news. We must keep up the pressure for Sir Paul Reeves not to cave in to the false demands of the illegal junta. The perceptions of the many must be coming through to him to maintain the Commonwealth still insists on elections in March 2009.

Keep blogging ragone!

Update: 5:52PM The Commonwealth will stick to the March 2009 date for an election.

Special representative to Fiji Sir Paul Reeves at a press conference at the Holiday Inn yesterday.

Sir Paul said the Commonwealth would need to hear and be convinced of good arguments to come off that understanding.

The interim Government made a commitment at the Pacific Island Forum in Tonga that it would take the country to election in March 2009.

Of course it is a matter to be discussed. For my part Im committed to that date of March. Im also committed to finding some serious intent and purpose amongst the leaders of Fiji to deal with the electoral issues and if that effect begins to be displayed Im sure the international community will take that very seriously, said Sir Paul.

Predictably the IIG will not take this lying down.

But then again the whole natural world is now telling them MARCH09 (or watch it). We now have on the list of countries forcing the election issue:

    Forum countries x 15
    EU
    US
Commonwealth countries x 42 (excluding forum countries including INDIA)

    – THINGS HOTTING UP!

    Bottled Water Industry Stops Production
    Publish date/time: 04/07/2008 [19:12]

Stakeholders in the bottle water industry have announced that all production of bottled water will be ceased and over 700 employees will remain without work until a solution is found to their grievances against the new duty imposed on bottled water.

Speaking on behalf of the 10 water bottling companies Island Chill Director Jay Dayal confirms that all production of bottled water will cease until further notice.

Dayal confirms that all employees of Please Beverage, Fiji Water, VTY, Mr. Pure, Island Chill, Aqua Pacific, Diamond Aqua, Tapoo’s Beverage, Fresh Spring Limited and Mineral Waters of Fiji have been sent home as the new tax structure makes it highly unprofitable for the industry to bottle water.

The Interim government has imposed a 20 cents per litre export duty on all the mineral water exports and a 20 cents per litre excise duty on mineral water sold locally.

Attempts to speak to Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chaudhry in the last hour proved futile. Join Fijivillage news tomorrow for developments on this story.

Serves them right for lusting for power? They deserve what they get, unfortunately, it is the common people who suffer and not these idiots.

    Heil Hitler Karl Marx!

  5. IslandBoy Says:

Small Digression here folks – Fiji Times reporting Major Filipo Alifereti replacing Leweni in China. Does anyone know if its this guy’s father who is implicated in the agricultural scam?

  6. Mark Manning Says:

So they send a butcher to china , seems appropriate under this regime !

  7. natewaprince Says:

The national coffers are almost empty.First Home Finance was asked to fund a Health Ministry project and now Robin Hood is trying to latch on to the profitable bottled water industry.

No wonder the Arse tried to carry out a con job on Microsoft and it’s billions. The only sure option open to him is to order the vaults of our banks opened and all monies siezed to run this bankrupt illegal regime.

money gone down the drain on feeding the army, keeping them in rental cars and other such luxuries. money gone down the drain on the NCBBF and money gone on trips to Dubai etc chasing new eco partners – NP what do u expect…

Does anyone know where that originates from? Must be those ppl in the military.

shame on the military- all we are doing is sharing our thoughts on the regime!

    NobleBannerBlue,

I have had about for such attempts in the last month. When the firewall says accept, if you do not know just say NO!!!! when asked.

A minor digression, please. What is wrong with Fiji rugby? Era sa la’i veiliutaki mai na Turaga ni Bau, e se warai ga! One chief as CEO, brings in a relli to manage the Team, hoping it’d make a difference.. hell no; we still go down to a team that was thrashed by a newcomer to the rugby stage – Japan.

Lost flair and lost glory! How disappointing!

The No.5 jumper would fit better on a much younger player.. ko se vo tu na nona i cegu. O la oya sa levu madaga na gauna sa taubale tu ga. Then there is the winger who, in an act of brilliance, made an interception but just couldnt finish in style cos he couldnt run the length of the field under pressure from the opposite side. Spoilt my lunch!

So, rugby experts; where did we go wrong ?

  14. Dauvavana Says:

Qori LUVFiji mo drau qai pillow talk madaga kina kei Tamadratou na gone (Naita IB), judging from some of his prevous postings he seems to have very good inside knowledge of FRU.

But from my experience, you’d be amazed at the ongoing politics of Fiji Rugby and Sports in General. As for soccer, now they’d make rugby administrators look like a bunch of angels!!

  15. natewaprince Says:

Ka dina Duana, very disappointing display. Can’t wait for NZ and Aussie tonight.

Can we blame the pig for this loss?,might as well.

  16. ex Fiji Tourist Says:

    Why not NP.

After all, isn’t bananasinpyjamas the president of FRU?

  17. Adi Kaila Says:

Sniper I’ve wondered whether the ig coupsters are interferring in sports as well – you know the Alise Tabete saga then the FRU and some really odd decisions made in the last 12 to 18 months.

The ig coupsters have usurped everything dear to us, our legally elected Government, our Traditions and culture, our jobs & our sports – especially rugby that everyone loves.

They’ve come in all guns ablaze wanting to fix what’s not broken – the mentality is incomprehensible and completely outrageous – now they’ve completely fucked everything up.

Sa baci kuvu mai na dei doubting tomasi na ma’ubuni kalavo qase dou volitaki dri mai Cumming Street. Dola na louvres me ciri mai loma na cagi vinaka.

  21. Linus Says:

Hey bloggers, You Clearly exposed this plan of destroying all things Fijian several months ago thru. that leaked document of GOPIO Colonization. That is exactly what Chods is carrying out. Bit by Bit. Once the economy is in tatters and the I taukei bankrupt; He brings in his Snakey businessmen from India, with their Military security and takes over the whole of Fiji, buying out all the buggered up businesses for peanuts. Shoves the I taukei out onto the Beaches, just as Ratu Sir Lala Sakuna told you would happen etc. etc. etc.

Why R U sounding surprised??? You folks on this blog told us all this earlier!!

  22. Jose Says:

    @ Linus
You could be right there too. But they will be bought by the One World Order. In whatever form they come. They will control everything that is our buying and selling unless we have the number of the beast. Go take a walk in the streets of Sydney. The signs are everywhere on the buildings including the service stations. If you know what you are looking for you’ll know what I mean. The Order use a lot of signs and symbols.
The bible has been telling us this for thousands of years, should we really be surprised? I think we Fijians have been hearing this as soon as we were able to read and write. It’s just a matter of time when the controlling starts. The Bible says the time is at hand.

  23. Adi Kaila Says:

in his dreams Linus – As internet activists we’re continually challenging the ig coupsters as this is the only way we can weaken their propaganda without causing anyone harm – everyone out there knows what they’re trying to do – it won’t happen no matter how much they try.

It’s amazing how many people have changed their minds in the last six months – they’re only beginning to see how destructive this ig is and have done a 360 degree turnaround. This is good for us who have opposed the ig from the beginning but we still need to stress the fact of its insidiousness so that noone ever tries to do this again.

I love this quote from Dante –

‘THE HOTTEST PLACES IN HELL ARE RESERVED FOR THOSE WHO IN A PERIOD OF MORAL CRISES MAINTAIN THEIR NEUTRALITY’

I AM VERY PROUD THAT I AM FIJIAN, I AM PROUD OF MY PEOPLE, I AM PROUD THAT WE CAN WITHSTAND ADVERSITY WITHOUT RESORTING TO VIOLENCE, I AM PROUD THAT WE FIJIANS HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH THESE BEAUTIFUL ISLANDS THAT WE CAN TAKE CARE OF ON OUR OWN, I AM PROUD THAT WE ALL KNOW THAT THESE ig coupsters WILL BE SEVERELY PUNISHED BY THE VANUA. WE ALL KNOW THIS IS OUR HEARTS TO BE TRUE – IT’S CALLED DIVINE RETRIBUTION! THIS IS AN INNATE SENSIBILITY THAT WE FIJIANS ARE BORN WITH – WE KNOW – IT’S OUR MANA

The ig coupsters have sold out, they’ve lost this gift in their rapaciousness that has nothing to do with nature. So they will lose out in the end. Their mojo is waning

  24. Fiji Democracy Now Says:

We at FDN say thank God for Sir Paul Reeves.

The long-term future of our beloved nation could well depend on his wisdom, commitment to democracy and persuasive powers.

Sir Paul wisely advocates sticking to Bainimarama’s timetable for a March 2009
election. And his committment to a return to democracy is backed up the intellect, logic and communication ability to progress that goal in an effective and meaningful way.

We know also that he has the ability to bring all the stakeholders together in a dialogue to move the nation forward.

What we don’t know is what manouvre, what ratbaggery, to expect from the dictator and his evil puppet master, Chodopus$$, when they realise that their tenure is down to months instead of the years they afre so clearly anticipating.

Sadly, folks, we suspect there’s still a long, twisting and winding road to travel before we finally get there.
