Ro Filipe calls for Vanua Representatives in proposed Political Forum

A Rewa chief has called for representatives of the ‘vanua’ to be included in the proposed political forum.

Ro Filipe Tuisawau said the inclusion of a few selected chiefs and advisers from the provinces “will also ensure that whatever the outcome of the Forum, whether a political settlement or a roadmap to normality for Fiji, will be broadly acceptable to all”.

The forum under the auspicious of the United Nations and the Commonwealth Secretariat will include political leaders.

Tuisawau explains that the political parties do not necessarily represent the indigenous Fijian people.

“It is very important to include all stakeholders in this forum,” he said.

Tuisawau commended the efforts by the interim Government in initiating the political forum and dialogue between the PM and the ousted PM Laisenia

It would be interesting how the Pig reacts to that given he has already told Vanua Reps to go and drink homebrew under a mango tree.

Must begin by saying that the Fiji Sun,a very vocal critic of the illegal regime is about to be gagged/censored by it’s newly appointed board member.FHL,which is a share holder in the newapaper has appointed the deep throated bugler to it’s board.

I have always admired the stand this paper has taken against the pig’s IG,especially its political editor Maika Balotaki. With the interference of the regime,I hope we do not see wholesale changes within the newspaper’s management and editorial staff.

Baci mata va sona toka o Leweni ni tabaki mai ena TV ena yakavi qo,blerry baku.

  2. Keep The Faith Says:

Well NP if that is the case with Leweni now on the Fiji Sun Board then it now makes 2 media outlets that are not exactly “free” – FBC and Fiji Sun.

No make that 3. I hear there are interesting moves being made on Daily Post.

  3. ex Fiji Tourist Says:

The good thing for the FijiSun board is that none of the board members would be able to understand a word that major disaster is saying.

  4. Say True! Says:

Still can’t believe the hypocrisy of the interim regime!

  5. Jese Waqalekaleka Says:

Well they forced changes into the FHL, who now owns these shares and appointed Leweni.

  6. Fijian Says:

    NP!!

Na qualification cava mada e tiko vei Grog Face Lewenski me qualify kina ena appointments va qo. Can somebody get his educational background?

  7. Striker Says:

Yes, I’m all for Ro Filipe’s suggestion. Especially after the pig’s willigness to join them in what he said was “drinking homebrew under the mango tree” Seriously however, Ro Filipe’s call is a good and important one.

  8. firewalker Says:

I support Striker and congratulate Ro Filipe for standing up for the people’s interest and not his own (like those pigs leading our country)

I hope every traditional chief to be like Ro Filipe and stand for the interest of the people and not lead the country down the drain where there is no turning back..

  9. IslandBoy Says:

Sorry if this sounds like I’m praising my own child, but what the heck – Well done Na Maku! Kemuni na Turaga Qaqa.

Ro Vilive is not only making a good and valid suggestion, it is intrinsically rooted in truth, the Vanua needs to make its voice heard in recognition of the interests of the Fijian people.

And this proposed Forum needs to hear that voice clearly unfiltered by party politics.

  10. IslandBoy Says:

@Jese Waqalekaleka – have a good look at the ownership structure of Yasana Holdings as well as FHL.

But I commend to you Tau that not all of this is due to the machinations of the illegal regime. Look back at the time Government made the decsion to support the CJ Patel group with free money.

Then look at the shareholders of CJ Patel. Somethings have come back and taken a huge chunk of someone’s arse. None of these guys are clean, neither side!

Se tekivu mai na deportation na ka qo. That was the whole idea, now why do you think they are retaliating with the increased prices of goods that have nothing to do with global trends.

  11. IslandBoy Says:

@JW – You could possibly saying I’m reaching here, and you may be right, but honestly Tau, I have seen that smoke rising for some time, I just need to locate the fire.

  12. LUVfiji Says:

@IB – drau vosota na veitukani, me’u bau kanaka mada la.

The upcoming political Forum as you know is coordinated by ComSec and the UN. Both these organisations deal only at government level.

  14. Frida Says:

LUVFIJI – I agree with Ro Vilive’s suggestions and I am sure Sir Reeves is reading the newspaper. What we need to do is find out how the traditional leaders can be involved without bany filtering of their desires and hopes for the indigenous people of FIJI.

  15. Keep The Faith Says:

They need to open the Forum up so that the common people can observe and engage too!

Not all these political parties and Vanua reps represent every single person in this country and their hopes or aspirations.

  16. LUVfiji Says:

@Frida – I also agree on the suggestion that the Vanua should have a voice on the Forum. However, my point to IB is that the two organisations involved can, as a matter of policy, only engage in dialogue at Government level. The same was carried out by the European Union Expert Mission in their recent consultations here where there was no Vanua representation. Pity. But thats how things work.

  17. Jese Waqalekaleka Says:

    @ IslandBoy,

my Tau, o kemuni e sega ni cala vakadua.

Just keep looking for ‘the fire’ and let us know your findings?

BTW, please reveal the shreholders of CJ Patel? I’ve always maintained “Qarase has done the crime, then he needs to do the time?’ One rule to apply to all is the onyl way Fiji will move forward.

This blog site is to get to the truth of the, so please reveal these shareholders?
