Former Fiji Labour Parliamentarian Vyas Deo Sharma says Fijians in New Zealand prefer that elections here should be held when the country is prepared.
Sharma says people are aware of the political situation in Fiji and believe elections should take place after all the preparations are completed.
“The general feeling over here is that the general elections should take place but the people who are here, especially the people from Fiji they know the political background of Fiji. And they know that whatever will happen, will always be good for Fiji but the election should only take place when Fiji is prepared, when the people are really prepared. This is the general view of the people over here who I’ve met.”
This has been reported by Radio Fiji quoting a BBC report. Talk about irreponsible reporting by both FBC and BBC, and who does this Vyas Deo Sharma represent. Was there a meeting, was there a poll done? When he says “Fijian” does he mean Taukei, Fiji Indians, or the Fiji Community of former Fiji Residence now living in Australia?
This kind of rubbish is not even worth the paper it was written on. Spare us the crap Radio Fiji.
