HEY YOU!- Beddoes calls for unity against opposers

Bloggers, Beddoes is calling for all Fijians to rise up and commence peaceful protests, passive resistance, etc to register our concern in the dismantling of Fijian Institutions, like the FHL because of influences of Indians, like Chodo boci, Col. Aziz, Padam Lala and other unscrupulous persons, which is being facilitated by none other than our very own brave Fijian Military!

Beddoes must be commended because no other Fijian Leader or Vasu has publicly made this call and he makes a valid point that at no time in our history has Indian Institutions or other Minority Institutions been nakedly targeted like Fijian Institutions today!

We humbly ask Fijian Chiefs, Churches, Political Leaders, etc to take up the challenge of Beddoes and organise peaceful protests and passive resistance, otherwise the illegal regime will continue dismantling all things Fijian and soon there will be nothing left to fight for and by then everyone will be cowered into submission.

We fully appreciate fellow Bloggers, that some of us differ in the strategy to how best confront the illegal regime because of personal experience either to yourselves or close family members, however this time we anticipate it will be a movement and not isolated peaceful protests, so there is safety in numbers.

However, if some Bloggers still strongly disagree, then feel free to voice them, but can you please offer what other alternative is there at this time? Remember Bloggers, ‘let us agree to disagree’, but not be sidetracked from our cause, which is to bring this illegal regime to justice.

We at the SV Team wish to say to these no-backbone Fijian Military personnel who are trying and sabotage our bogsite or other freedom blogsites, how can you stand up proud and say you are a true Fijian, when you are assisting in the destruction of Fijian Institutions & Fijian culture! Sa sega vei kemuni na madua ena vei tovo vakasisila, lolovira, vei beci, tawakilikili dou sa kitaka tiko vei ira na wekamuni? Sa sega ni bibi vei kemuni na dra?

In line with Beddoes call for peaceful protest marches, peaceful resistance, etc, the SV Team wishes to announce the T-Shirts we had talked about some time ago, will soon be ready for orders and we hope those supporting our cause, especially our brothers and sisters from overseas will purchase them in abundance, so it can worn publicly all over the world and make a statement!

Bloggers, can you find out from your friends whether they too would like to purchase these T-Shirts and let us know the level of interest, so we can prepare accordingly? We will let you know soon as to how it can be ordered online and post some samples as well.

Keep blogging ragone and keep up the fight!

SV Team.

DEPOSED Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes is calling on the minority community to stand by their taukei cousins and resist the systematic destruction of Fijian institutions by the Fiji Labour Party (FLP)-led military junta.Beddoes was referring to a recent TV coverage showing interim Finance Minister, Mahendra Chaudhry, telling members of his National Farmers Union (NFU) in Labasa, of which he is still National Secretary, that Government will ‘pay farmers’ to return to farming.

“Engineering a ‘hostile takeover’ of a company under normal circumstances in business is one thing, but ‘hijacking’ the board’ by using the military is quite another,” he said.

Beddoes added that Fijian Holdings was a landmark Fijian institution that symbolised the successful entry into Fiji’s usually Indian and minority-dominated commercial sector by indigenous Fijians.

“With this latest ‘interference’ by the junta, it was obvious for all to see, that there was a systematic attempt by the FLP-led military junta to neutralise ‘Fijian owned’ institutions.”

He added that when such a move was supported by a Fijian-dominated military, it demonstrated a high degree incitement and a level of “contempt” for our indigenous people, never before visible in Fiji.

“I am unaware of any attempts to interfere with any Indian or minority dominated institutions,” he said.

But he is ashamed to say that certain individuals from these two communities were supporting the systematic demise of Fijian institutions such as the GCC, NLTB, and Fijian Holdings.

He has no doubt that the Yasana Holdings will soon suffer the same fate and this was worrying, not only because of the negative message it gave potential investors in Fiji, but because it was being done “blatantly and deliberately” against the indigenous Fijians.

“This is wrong and must be opposed by all law abiding citizens of Fiji, through organised
protests and other methods of passive resistance,” he added.

time for bloggers to put their money where their mouth is .

  2. Jese Waqalekaleka Says:

Well MM, I hate to say it but you have been advocating this all along.

I think Beddoes has a valid strategy, so long as the Chiefs, Churches, Political Leaders and others jump on the band wagon and it becomes a movement as stated in the SV Team opening comments.

Imagine MM, peaceful protests and passive resistance throughout Fiji during Sir Paul Reeves visit with his International Political Forum?

    It will be devastating!!!

I am interested in purchasing a T- Shirt though and even if I am unable to wear it, it will be something I can keep as memorabilia when we return to Parliamentary democracy!

SV Team, I want to order 1 for now and maybe others to follow.

    Keep up the fight!

  3. Save the Sheep Says:

    This MUST be done folks.

There is nowhere in History that significant things have been achieved without a bit of effort.

If it means confrontation then so be it but lets remember the Civil Rights Movements of the 60’s and 70’s and aim to keep it peaceful.

  4. kuku Says:

Hey, anyone knows whats happening with the Fijiexileboard website? It appears as if someone has found A WAY to screw it up? Must be those IG Bastards or Voreqe sonalevu? About this Beddoes guy, i really didn’t like him before but the man seems genuine and appears to be quite a thinker. Is he a Vasu or just a fair individual? Another such fair individual is GDEV a consistent contributor in the FijiExileBoard website. I’d vote one of them in as PM or President any day?

  5. Koya na Man Says:

This has been the agenda of chaudhary all along after suffering the bitter disgust of being removed from power twice.

Chaudhary knew very well that Voreqes brains were so naive that when filled up with all the shit they had, will lead him to stage a coup, for all the wrong reasons.

He was after dismantling all the Fijian dominated institution to avoid giving us our fair share of the inidian dominated commercial sector.Another thing they were after is our owned native land, holding more than 80% of the total land mass, and knowing that FIji lies free from all the political and enviromental hazards the rest of the world is facing, and land could be the jewel in the crown in anyones possesion.

It’s about bloody time someone actually stood up and just said it “LET”S MARCH”!! We can’t be bloody waiting around till “the cows come home” for this idiotic ulupepa regime to get out!

I’m just sad that it took a “kailoma” to actually SAY IT! Sad day for all fijians..especially our chiefs…

You go Mr Beddoes – i’ll surely campaign for you!

  9. THE MESSIAH Says:

Hmmm…interesting. He’s finally thought about losing weight! And going on a long march. Lead the way, Beddoes.

  10. Tim Says:

Are the politically correct and impotent neighbours shitting themselves yet? I’m wondering when it will be that they wake the fuck up!!!!

I ask (plead even) that this should not be mis-characterised as Indo_fijian against Fijian. IT IS NOT! IF it were, there wouldn’t be Naidu’s and others against this pathetic bloody circus of opportunists and bullshit artists that come from a wide circle. The only good Indian is NOT a dead Indian as Kuku suggessts elsewhere – some actually fight for what he/she holds dear. It is more about opportunist criminals with inflated egos and notions of self importance. There is one Naidu in the next room that would be the first to protest and a damn sight more elsewhere. Be clear about what you are protesting. By and large its a bunch of facist assholes that have attempted to seize whatever political persuasion you aspire to, in order to further their own agenda. If you are a genuine left leaning touchy feely liberal, you should be opposed. And if you are the staunchest neo-liberal, you should also be opposed.
It isn’t about race – it’s about the pathetically and inadequately inclined.
They are actually both Fijian and Indo-Fijian ( and “Caucasian”). Evil is trans-racial.
Good to see FHL trading has been suspended.
Time for Australia and NZ to put their money where their mouths are and delve a little deeper into a few other things.
The NZ Police in Wellington (actually Toita near Noinoi) should get a better grip – but then lately they’re reknown for their failures – perhaps its the assumption that a uniform brings respectability.

  11. Frida Says:

Lets also make a call to the Australian government to freeze all of chaudhary’s money in down under.

  12. Anne Says:

I have been reading these blogs for a long time and always thought that its all talk no action. It is clear now that Fijian institutions are targeted by the regime for permanent destruction. Perhaps the time is right to come out. Peaceful and insightful (from insight) protest will be best timed for the visits of UN and Commonwealth officials. It will be difficult for the regime to curb basic civil rights while they pretend to open a public dialogue. Once protests start and gather momentum, the regime will eventually fall as all dictatorships have in history. And think about the UN´s position if the junta brings the guns out. Even the lukewarm UN would have difficulties to keep using Fijian soldiers in their operations. This is the junta´s weakest point. I know its easy for me to say this from overseas, but I will pray for my brothers and sisters in Fiji who take the risks and do what is right.

    Good bless Fiji

  13. Striker Says:

While I agree with most of the posts, I don’t think we should give up on diplomacy just yet. The IG has promised elections. Let the Commonwealth negotiators come in. Pressure and still more pressure. Only when they fail to honor their committments should we look at other alternatives. Otherwise we will only be giving them an excuse to defer the elections and consolidate their hold. Keep blogging chaps, you’re doing enough damage already!

  14. Islander Says:

It is really refreshing to see people of credibility finally speaking up. Last week Ratu Joni tactfully lambasted the illegal regime and now Beddoes is really showing just what a leader he is. I must agree with someone earlier, I didn’t care much for him years ago, but the fella seems to really got it together up there. Kudo’s to him and anyone else of like mind.

Let’s take our country back, we can do it without being savages like the current RFMF and it’s leaders.

Ratu Joni Madraiwii for PRESIDENT & Beddoes for VICE PRESIDENT. It’s about time to get the intellectual thinker’s back to running the government.

It matters not what anyone thinks , this regime decided years ago just exactly what it had in mind and how it would achieve it’s goals . Anyone who believes otherwise , is deluding themselves ! The processes this regime have put into place , are merely a smokescreen to hide their real intent . And one can only assume that that is total dominance over all facets of fijian society . Hasn’t anyone in Fiji understood yet , that Fiji is being sold out to the asians from under your feet , by your own countrymen ?

These silly Fijians do not know- ha!ha!ha!ha!ha! We are controlling their Military now. We will do it slowly until we destroy all the Fijian Institutions and the their land rights. The silly Fijians including the selfish Ganilau and Bai do not know and do not bother. GENOCIDE is the MISSION. It can achieved politically.

    To India and Manning
hahahaha…yeah lets start with crashing the South Pacific Exchange dominated by India and the banks! Maybe the Fijians can start thinking about the 6 billion deal now…hehehehe Take your pick!
Fijians are lousy merchants anyway because their eyes have always been to big for their stomach(traditionally) thus the need to have a corporate body(GCC new look) to curb the crooks that take advantage of the Natadola projects etc. I say Code of conduct is necessary because no chief should be above the law neither are accountants!

And still they keep appointing their own to key positions.Another iditiotic goon is supposed to replace the ”rookrike” bugler in China and that FLP leeche Maika Morolevu has been appointed a member on one of the boards.

The bottom of the empty barrel must surely be damaged as they keep scraping it to find these idiots.

  27. Jese Waqalekaleka Says:

Well I did admit you were right MM right after your 1st post, but thanks again for refreshing our minds with these 2 posts.

    Keep digging bloggers.

  28. Leve davo Says:

As Fijians who understand how the mechanics of commerce works, what is happening to FHL is none other than the chodomans strategy. Remember the $20 million that was given as a grant to FHL? The impact it has given FHL to overtake overseas and local competitors had swept like wild fire and they are not taking it lightly. What is unraveling now is the work of these losers who will do everything under this planet to bring FHL to its knees. BUT, BUT… they should be very careful..if they continue poking, Fijians will react and what happens????

Remember Padam Lala? This was the same guy that supplied the military 1000 suits for the Lebanon trip when only a 100 or 200 were needed. He was being paid for that and was queried by the Auditor General, nothing happened after that.

As for Colonel AZIZ, since the board changes was illegal, he will use his half cooked legal advise to try and legalise the takeover. Least they realise, you cannot do that in corporates such as FHL as their share trading criterias are being controlled and regulated by the South Pacific Stock exchange..

KUA MADA na cakacaka tiko vakalialia ni lala tu na uluda….

  29. Groggymaster Says:

A possible scenario is the nationalisation of Fijian Holdings – that is reverting to state ownership.
Whilst I’m not familiar with the ownership structure, it appears that the Fijian Affairs Board is effectively controlling all of the provinces’ shareholding, which allowed it to call a members general meeting and appoint govt approved directors to the Board of FHL. I can’t see each of the provinces agreeing unamimously to the changes to the FHL board.

  30. EnufDictatorship Says:

The idea to wait and march (or show passive resistance) until the UN and Com are here is a good thought BUT, do we know when they will be in?

Because we can\’t wait around for them if it is going to take them another whole month to be ready and appear on our shores.

  31. FijiGirl Says:

Vinaka Mick Beddoes for standing up to be counted. What we need now is for leaders to take a stand against the regime so that the common people may make their voice heard.

The people of Fiji must take responsibility for what happens in our country!

Here’s some other ideas for peaceful protest.

Remember – keep it non violent!

Violent protest is exactly what Vore-Chodo are hoping for because it will give them the excuse to use their guns like their heroes did in Tibet.

Think like Mandela and Gandhi and we WILL win the day.

    God bless Fiji

we have had enough. They have laughed at our, culture, vanua, and totally disrespected the Fijian people. I am so tired about the talking and smart talk. The time of talking is no more. Why don’t we stand up for once and spill some Blood for once.

This land where my, Tears, Blood, hard wok, and guts is turning into a Fucking Playing ground.

Lets take strength from the story about Viwa Island. If you visit the Church on Viwa Island you will see a Bell which was once on the French war ship that came to our shores along time ago. Locals with spears, clubs, boarded the ship and killed everyone. They went up against a naval French ship which is not written in Fijian history but belongs to the Viwa Island. They stood up, the question is, “WHAT WE THE FIJIANS OF TODAY CAN DO”

lets all come together as a Family and stand and fight,if that means the loss of life. Its better to have your life take then wait for the rest of your life for your soul to suffer and then be taken.

Open door policy for EU says Nailatikau
    17 Jun 2008 01:55:02

Interim Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau says they will grant access to the E-U mission to meet anyone.

He says, they have an open door policy towards the visit.

The Interim Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Epeli Nailatikau has recently returned from the 87th African, Caribbean Council of Ministers in Ethiopia.

There he reiterated interim government’s commitment to holding a free and fair election in March next year.

In a follow-up to this 87th Session of the Council a delegation from the European Union is coming to the country to gauge our level of commitment towards elections.

The E-U mission will also speak to those opposed to the mission the Interim minister says, they won’t stop this.

The mission includes members from France and the UK and will be led by the current EU presidency, which is France.

Let’s hope these guys want to speak to Mick Beddoes …

NGO’s – Contact the EU Delegation in Suva and strongly suggest that they meet with Mick Beddoes while the mission is here!

    God bless Fiji

  38. kuku Says:

Someone above suggested for Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi to be President and Mick Beddoes as Vice President? I second the motion. Also, someone suggested that the time for small talk is gone,it now time to bring out the gun and lets go out and hunt down those bastards? i also second that motion. i say this with the utmost respect to all Fijians, its time now for us to kill or be killed? shoot those bastards or they’ll shoot you first? It time to shoot that maca-faka chodo, asshole, and other boci but not Naidu.I say lets do it now and do it fast? I’m not mad cause of my investments with the FHL but rather because of the way they’re trying to destroy the very core of our society? GCC,NLTB,FHL and so forth. Please, someone gimme the gun,, for if i die as the result of this demo, than by all mean, lets go ahead and lets do it??

  39. Epsom Says:

  40. Striker Says:

@ Epsom: I don’t recall Christ saying Christians should be the Epsom salt of the earth. Yes, there will be time for action, but not yet. Let’s go to the elections, if they fail in the promises for a fair election, within the stipulated time, within existing laws and the Constitution, then of course, let’s look at the alternatives!

  41. Frida Says:

Vinaka Fiji Girl and lets get as many people as possible to speak to the team – the media liaison officer there is Debbie Singh.

  43. Katalina Balawanilotu Says:

I knew this was in the making 17 months ago. SOME JUST HAVE TO WAIT until it actually is here and then sit up. But for whatever it is worth, I am mighty pleased that Mr Beddoes continues to be the upstanding person I had discovered many moons ago. And it is not surprising that he is vocal here too. The embarrassing part of all these is the laid back attitudes in the Fijians. We don’t like it but we can not do anything about it. No one wants to take responsibility. No one has the guts to go onto the streets and demonstrate. We are still talking about doing it someday but no one does. In the meantime the FLP led coup are doing whatever they like.

  44. Katalina Balawanilotu Says:

Is precisely the reason to bring a verdict slamming this Charter in promotion of the Constitution.

  46. benhur Says:

Sorry people, my apology but our Lau province will possibly be bullied by the Maras,Ganilau and Nailatikau in siding with the Illegal IG? As a member of the yavusa vuanirewa and a registered native land owners in the VKB i herewith reject the IG so called people Charter, I reject the Military overthrow of our elected Government and their illegal attempt to destroy the GCC, NLTB and FHL. I stand ready to shoot anyone of the bastards above and abolished these “KAWA-CA” from among our true Fijian Chiefs.

  47. Lolipop Says:
