No powers to stop Interim Government

Friday, June 06, 2008

Rewa Provincial Council spokesperson Ro Filipe Tuisawau says no one has the powers to stop the Interim Regime to appoint a Vice President without the Great Council of Chiefs.

Ro Filipe was responding to statements by Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama that if the GCC will not sit due to rejection of the reviewed report by provincial councils a Vice President will still be elected and there are many ways to go about it.

Ro Filipe says the decision by the council of chiefs and the Provincial councils have been made.

Rewa has chosen not to accept the GCC review and the proposed People’s Charter.

Ro Filipe says government in its current track is unstoppable unless there is an interference using the Court.

Constitutional lawyer Jon Apted said that in the case if the death of the President Ratu Josefa Iloilo the Interim Prime Minister can assume executive authority and nominate a person to take up the vice presidency role.

I suppose we’re all assuming that its Ratu Iloilo.

What happens if the frank should collapse and die first.. besides the jubilation from us at SV ?

  2. NobleBannerBlue Says:

Then we all know who will become iPM – MC…

so this regime supports child exploitation in hand with the tourist operators !
and the manipulation of the judiciary is so obvious even blind Freddy can see it ! And this is only the beginning and a sign of things to come !
As I stated last week , Frank will deliberately send agendas which are unattainable by the GCC and just wait for the President to either die or become too ill to function , then the Commander will just appoint who he likes as VP and assume the role of President . It’s at that point , that he will probably abrogate the Constitution . And where will that leave you all ?
So what are you all waiting for ?
Please take note again , of my post from September 2007 and the responses made by 2 individuals to my post . They are real and unchanged !

It matters not what anyone thinks , this regime decided years ago just exactly what it had in mind and how it would achieve it’s goals . Anyone who believes otherwise , is deluding themselves ! The processes this regime have put into place , are merely a smokescreen to hide their real intent . And one can only assume that that is total dominance over all facets of fijian society . Hasn’t anyone in Fiji understood yet , that Fiji is being sold out to the asians from under your feet , by your own countrymen ?

These silly Fijians do not know- ha!ha!ha!ha!ha! We are controlling their Military now. We will do it slowly until we destroy all the Fijian Institutions and the their land rights. The silly Fijians including the selfish Ganilau and Bai do not know and do not bother. GENOCIDE is the MISSION. It can achieved politically.

hahahaha…yeah lets start with crashing the South Pacific Exchange dominated by India and the banks! Maybe the Fijians can start thinking about the 6 billion deal now…hehehehe Take your pick!
Fijians are lousy merchants anyway because their eyes have always been to big for their stomach(traditionally) thus the need to have a corporate body(GCC new look) to curb the crooks that take advantage of the Natadola projects etc. I say Code of conduct is necessary because no chief should be above the law neither are accountants!

  11. Mark Manning Says:

the point about the Volkswagens was that Hitler , in his bid to appease the populace , he promised them a car each !
At that time , Germany was in a deep recession , unemployment was very high , it was similar to the 30 pieces of silver given to Judas in return for kissing Jesus on the cheek in the Garden of Geseminy , the night before jesus’ crucifuction . In other words , some in Fiji , have sold their soul and principles , on a false promise to a man who has promised to deliver the undeliverable ! Prosperity , jobs etc . And we all know how Germany and it’s people ended up ! There weren’t many driving around in Volkswagens !

  12. Mark Manning Says:

Vote mark manning for President , a free volkswagen and toaster for all !

  13. Mark Manning Says:

  15. Mark Manning Says:

luvfiji , just replied to your other post re invasion of Iraqb y the us etc.
On the Merc. I’l have to consider that , as it could open a flood of other requests if I give into your request and this could force me to divert raw materials away from the war effort , I mean making toasters !

  16. merovingian Says:

    If Bainimarama were to die…

…the factions within the military will surface and the resultant in-fighting will see the arrest of Leweni, Aziz, Driti, Roko Ului, Tikoitoga and a host of other key militarypersonnel including most if not all of the members of the military council.

Both Rt Epelis will be arrested along with Chaudhary, Khaiyum and a host of other coup supporters.

The police will arrest their own Commissioner and FICAC will be suspended pending a review of its establishment, procedures and personnel.

Everybody in the camp knows this…

Bainimarama is the glue that is keeping this whole sorry saga together.

As soon as he’s gone, everything he has done so far will be reversed and a new clean-up campaign will ensue… starting at Delainabua!!!!

  17. kuku Says:

Don’t see anything in the constitution that the Interim PM can appoint a vice President.Even if he go on and appoint one it would still be illegal. He should really stop making any illegal appointment since he would be unemployed after the election in March 2009.?

  18. Corruption Fighter Says:

    What’s going on?

I’ve just noticed that Savenaca Narube let drop
that the contraction from the economy in 2007 was 4.4%, not 3.9% as
forecast in the budget in December. That 3.9% drop was already an
increase on earlier forecasts (guesses!) that the economy would
shrink by about 2%. And the estimate for growth in 2008 seems to
have been revised down from 2.2% to 1.5%. I never thought they’d
make the 2.2% but a revision at this stage back to 1.5% probably
means that it’s going to be lower still.

I guess everybody knows that the economy is sick and that the IG is
continuing to lie about it, but I’m wondering whether this has been in
the media or are they too scared to say boo after another expat press
man got the boot. Narube’s bombshell was in a speebh he gave to a
meeting of small and medium business people oiji22 May. It’s on
the RBF website which I always check out to see how safe my
remaining investments in Fiji are. Maybe people in Fiji are getting
used to coups but they need to understand that this one is the worst
of the lot. Why do people like Bishop Mataca continue to give their
blessing to a government that has brought poverty and misery to

  19. jon jon Says:

I heard that Mahen, has wiped out Ganilua’s debt and bought a $100.000 house for the pig’s son using tax payer funds.. Can anyone pliz clarify if this its true?

  20. jon jon Says:

Also all other ministers who are in debt are now debt free thanks to robin hood Mahen.

  21. Jose Says:

    @ merovingian
And Mataca and Yabaki what do you suggest should be their fate?

  22. Jose Says:

    @ Corruption Fighter
Mataca’s blessing ain’t worth shit. Him and Yabaki are criminals. The worst kind there is in Fiji.

    IB and LuvFiji

Do you remember someone posted here earlier this year I think – and only once that they prefer voreqe to Roko ‘Lui as commander because RL is cruel?

I think this is the reason the mataivalu are reluctantly behind voreqe as the alternative is not conducive.

Yes you’re quite right – the two eps want to be President or Vice/P and their wives want to reside in Government House, RL wants to be the head of the mataivalu – their sense of entitlement is unbelievable in this day and age. I suppose Harry Dugdale will be made Minister of Finance?

Never gonna happen in this lifetime or the next.

Results cannot be achieved overnight: Chodo
    Friday, June 06, 2008
Update: 4:40PM The interim Government claims to be aware of what has been fundamentally wrong with the economy for the past two years (ANSWER – THE ILLEGAL REGIME) and is working towards sound fiscal and financial management policies (FOR THEMSELVES).

Interim Finance Minister Mahendra Chodopu$$ said even though the present Government has placed firm policies, directives and positive measures to address these wrongs, results cannot be achieved overnight (OR EVEN IN 500 NIGHTS – EXCEPT IF YOU WANT DECLINE, WHICH THEY ACHIEVE ON A DAILY BASIS).

“It should not be forgotten that we inherited an economy in dire trouble (WHAT FAIRY LAND DOES THIS GUY LIVE IN?) and very vulnerable to adverse global pressures, (MALEKA!)” he said.

“At the same time, there are positive indicators that the economy is definitely on the mend (WELL, IT CAN’T GET ANY WORSE) in the short span of 15-18 months compared to the highly precarious state it was in when we took over from the Qarase Government, (MAYBE IF I RETELL THIS LIE OFTEN ENOUGH SOMEONE WILL START BELIEVING IT)” Mr Chaudhry said in clarification of comments made by the Governor of the Reserve Bank, Savenaca Narube.

He added that Fiji’s Foreign Reserves have stabilised (WELL, CHODO’S FR HAVE, AT LEAST), the interim Government’s debt levels have declined to 47 per cent of the GDP (THANKS TO UNDECLARED FUNDS FROM INDIA AND CHINA) from a high of 52 per cent under the SDL (OH LOOK! ANOTHER LIE…), and the Budget deficit has been contained at less than 2 per cent of the GDP from a high of 5.5 per cent while interest rates have declined substantially from 14-15 per cent to around 7 per cent. (THIS WON’T LAST WHEN YOUR SUGAR DEAL WILTS ONCE THE EU REALISES YOU AREN’T PLANNING TO STICK TO THE AGREED ELECTION TIMETABLE…)

“These are real achievements based on tight control (CHODO IS A WORLD LEADING MICRO-MANAGER) of government expenditure and firm policy directions (WHICH DOESN’T MAKE THIS REGIME ANY LESS ILLEGAL) which show that the interim government is clearly action-oriented (EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE NO MANDATE OR LEGALITY) and not just talk (THANK GOODNESS, BECAUSE ALL OF OUR TALK IS JUST LIES LIES LIES),” Mr Chodo said.

    God bless Fiji

🙂 at Mark M re the VDub – Apparently he commited suicide and was a total narcissist that loved his uniforms and was given to throwing little tanties – so there’s still hope. I reckon in Frank’s case a Trabant would be more appropriate.

  31. IslandBoy Says:

@Adi Kaila – can you also recall that someone posted here RL blasted Frank during a 3FIR parade and no sanction implemented as the troops were largely unmoved.

I had heard from very good sources that when Lo Salabula was taken in for questioning he was very rude and abusive, a combo of his high military and traditional rank.

Adi – kere update on the Lau Provincial Council meetings. Did you read whispers today?

Instability forces crime unit to flee Fiji
    06 JUN 2008

The Pacific’s Transnational Crime Coordination Centre has blamed Fiji’s political instability for its decision to move offices out of the country.

Radio Australia quotes the assistant commissioner with the Australian Federal Police, Tim Morris, as saying the TCCC board of management decided it had to be moved.

“The ongoing instability surrounding Fiji has made the board that oversees the Pacific transnational crime network reconsider whether that is the optimum location,” Morris said.

The transnational crime network coordinates the efforts of Pacific island nations in fighting crimes which affect all of them, including money laundering, human trafficking, drugs enforcement and customs law enforcement.

It was set up in 2002, based in Suva.

The new centre for the network was opened in Samoa’s capital, Apia, today.

the president will die after voreqe and that nullifies all what will happen then???let Ratu Jope assumes authority by the GCC and the P as well.Lets pray this happens so soon so that we do not suffer more..Power of prayers will live forever if you still do not believe it..God Please Help YOUR Suffering Fiji…

  34. Mark Manning Says:

interseting timing as I actually emailed the PM in Australia this afternoon asking what more has to happen before our Government intervenes into the Regional problems created by this transnational crime syndicate . The timing is amazing !

  35. Budhau Says:

Once again, immediately after this piece was posted, you guys went for someonn’s wife or daughter – and then way down into the gutter with that “pussy” remark. Then there was the Chaudary bashing – the usual crap.

BTW – that statement – Ro Filipe says government in its current track is unstoppable unless there is an interference using the Court.

What do these idiots think Qarase included, that somehow the courts can come to our aid. Haven’t these folks learned from Qarase himself that court decision means jack sh*t – to Qarase regime or to the military regime. .

The moment some court decision comes down against the IG – they will just abrogate the constitution – and sack the court.

So now – that the court ain’t no help – what are we gonna do – negotiate and in the mean time time try and frustrate the regime. Bad mouthing the regime in the media – what does that get us.

Instead of trying to report Chaudary to FICAC – Qarase should be out there leading the march – so what if they arrest him.

    God Bless

  36. Jose Says:

Well done Mark Manning. Yes its in Mark 14:32 and Mathew 26:36 King James Version. I only read KJV. Passion of the Christ is the only Jesus movie that depicts the Bible almost accurately. I say almost except for the bit that we saw Peter kneeling before Mary after the crucifixion of Christ. You see, there is going to be a great significance in this in the coming future even so, its already happening. Jesus is sidelined and Mary elevated to the position of Christ. Already does in Catholosism. For the One World Religion. A call for world wide unity.

  37. Jose Says:

Bhudau, why don’t you and Qarase go and lead the march? So what if youse get arrested?

  38. Peace Pipe Says:

One kerekere SV. Please do some makeover or put some makeup on the pig before pasting his picture on the article. He looks like the devil himself. Its funny who the actions of one has some bearing on the way one looks. he looks like an ogre.

  39. Jose Says:

You can’t take the heat Bhudau just flee to your wealthy $18 wheelbarrow job you poor bugger.

  40. Tui Says:

You never know Budau, maybe LQ is thinking of that option right now! And when it happens, no military might will stop it!

  41. Johny Foreigner Says:

MPC has got Government finances under control. One is reminded of the surgeon who carried out a successful operation but the patient died.

  42. George of Sydney Says:

To cut it short, the country is being controlled by a mad dictator taking advantage of the power of the President. Please turaga na Tui Vuda dont humiliate yourself. You didnot create the problem. But you can be the source of the solution if you step out of the way so we can really see what can they do. If Fiji collapse, it has nothing to do with you but if you are at the helm and the people of Fiji suffers, the accountability will be your. Dont enact ay more laws illegally and call for an election immidiateley under the current constitutional guidelines.
