The calm of frank on monday has disappeared and nutty frank is back with his viavialevu attitude. Fiji’s ties to Australia is more than just the spitting of frank, as it is between the people. But frank’s no-care attitude is obvious in his lazy response to the media, designed at taking attention away from the wise words of Ratu Joni Madraiwiwi and other observers who are making alot of sense.

Radio Fiji reports today that the one-man one-vote doesn’t make sense when you look at the census figures, where Fijians are now 57% and no matter how electoral boundaries are drawn, Fijians will always win big. The census means that even the 19 Indian communal seats will be reduced in one-man one-vote. Ratu Joni said that the one-man one-vote will bring about exactly what baini and chodo dont want and that serious discussion is needed for proportional representation because one-man one-vote will further marginalise the numerical minority communities of Fiji’s population.

Yet, in another desperate move to make the national conversation about himself, nutty frank today says they are looking for a new site for the Fiji museum and if the Australians evacuate, their HC site in Tamavua can be the new museum. C’mon frank, why dont you expand the museum rather than building another village hall for kiuva village or sawaieke? its already a huge site at Thurston gardens. Bau put your grunts at the GPH to work mera cukicuki e Thurston gardens rather than eating and hanging out their underwear for the whole world to see on the grand old lady Grand Pacific Hotel. Then just expand the museum premises.

E ca gona ni o James Batley e momoqaqa, sega ni rere na yaloyalo e village 6. O frank rau porno movie tikoga kei aiyass e vale!!! wahahahahaha 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Australian High Commission can be new Fiji museum site if they go says Bainimarama
Thursday, May 22, 2008
Interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama says he is surprised that the Australian Foreign Minister has allowed staff at the High Commission in Suva to return to Australia if they feel threatened.
Bainimarama has told Radio Gold News that even though the High Commissioner has been threatened twice he can be seen without security in Suva.
Bainimarama said he is surprised at the repatriation option given to the High Commission staff, because Fiji is providing the security requirements stipulated under the Vienna Convention.
“The two threatening letters that were received by the Australian High Commissioner. have not stopped him fro going wherever he wants to go. He has been seen in public alone not accompanied by security people, even under the Viena Conventions we provide him with security and that is why the police are up at the High Commission facilities. We have not said no to security we’ve just said that we don’t want to make a big deal out of nothing because that is the way we see it, It is really nothing. They are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.”
Bainimarama adds should the High Commission staff leave the complex could be used as a museum.
“I really want to find out when they are going because we are trying to find an alternative site for the museum. That will be nice.”

If the Australian Government withdraw their Consular staff , has Frank realised it could also heighten the travel warning and hence decimate the Fijian economy by advising visitors to stay away from Fiji because of these stupid , childish death threats on it’s staff ?
Has this crazy Commander thought of the consequences ?
The only thing which should be in a new museum , is pictures of Frank , Chaudhry and all in the I.G.

No Charter, no election, says Fiji PM
    22 MAY 2008
    ——————————————————————————–

Fiji’s interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama says there will be no March 2009 election if politicians do not agree with the People’s Charter.

Bainimarama told Fijilive that this was one of the issues he discussed with ousted Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase in their meeting on May 19.

“We can’t have elections without the Charter,” he said.

Bainimarama said he told Qarase that it was very important to solve the underlying problems of the coups in the country before the elections.

“We have to sort out all the problems,” he said.

Bainimarama told Fijilive that failure to accomplish this via the Charter would be inconsistent with the purpose of the military’s clean-up campaign.

In ousting the Qarase Government in 2006, the military’s stated intention was to root out corruption and steer the country forward.

He said the Charter would require all leaders to work together and implement the wishes of the people.

GCC off if chiefs don’t support
    22 MAY 2008
    ——————————————————————————–

The Great Council of Chiefs will not convene to appoint a Vice President if chiefs from the various provinces do not cooperate with the interim Government, Fiji’s interim Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said today.

“If there is no quorum than the GCC is going to be cancelled,” he told Fijilive.

This after majority of the provinces consulted so far have rejected the interim Government’s decision to restructure the GCC and the People’s Charter process.

Bainimarama, who is also the Minister for Indigenous Affairs, said it’s time that he had a good look at all the 14 provinces.

Bainimarama said being a Government body, it is the provincial council’s role to cooperate and inform its chiefs about his administration’s initiatives.

“The provincial councils do not have the right to stop the (People’s) Charter process,” said Bainimarama.

“Their work is to create awareness and not to decide for the Government”.

Bainimarama said that his Cabinet has approved that each of the chief’s councils or ‘bose vanua’ of the provinces are to nominate three representatives each to the GCC.

The new-look GCC was scheduled to convene mid-year after consultation with the provinces.

Its first role was to appoint a deputy for aging President Ratu Josefa Iloilo.

The following is a comment I made on the Fiji Times and then two replies to my original comment . I think that the replies fully explain the true intentions of those behind this coup and perhaps even indicate that it was planned well in advance ! I have copied it directly from the pages of the have your say section of the Fiji Times , it has not been changed nor anything added to it in anyway . It is a genuine article from two emotional individuals .

It matters not what anyone thinks , this regime decided years ago just exactly what it had in mind and how it would achieve it’s goals . Anyone who believes otherwise , is deluding themselves ! The processes this regime have put into place , are merely a smokescreen to hide their real intent . And one can only assume that that is total dominance over all facets of fijian society . Hasn’t anyone in Fiji understood yet , that Fiji is being sold out to the asians from under your feet , by your own countrymen ?

People – don’t think for a second that Chodo is going for 1-man-1-vote WITHOUT skewing the vote in his favour.

You know all these companies from India that he is wooing to come and open up shop on Fiji’s shores? Well they need to bring with them, yes, you guessed it, workers from India. And these people, even though they are not Fiji-born and will not have Fiji passports or citizenship, will VOTE for Chodothru$h in the upcoming elections because the new Commissioner for Elections won’t have time to properly check their ID or the validity of their enrolment. Voila- tens of thousands of extra votes for Chodo.

He still has time, before Mar 09, to try to force through his proposal of PR for ex-citizens ie all the indo-Fijians who have since migrated to US, Canada, Aus, NZ, etc. (Funny how few move back to India, eh?) Again – extra votes for the Chodopu$$.

We need to put our heads together and come up with a strategy and numerous tactics to really f**k up his plans. There are so many good brains on this blog (Budhau not included in that count – OBVIOUSLY!) that I’m sure we can expand our arsenal of ideas against this Junta.

    God bless Fiji

  8. Budhau Says:

FijiGirl – you idiot – why would someone allow non-citizen to vote in a Fiji election – and how many Indians have arrived so far.

You idiot – the fear is that 40 some percent of Indians will form a coalition with a minority Fijian party led by the Epeli boys – and with one-man-one vote, that would give them the numbers to win an election.

No, idiots like you do not need to put your “heads together and come up with a strategy and numerous tactics to really f**k up his plans.”

And that PR plan earlier announced – that won’t give these guys the right to vote.

…the so many good brains in here part – that was very funny – yeap – there is you and Jose can “expand on your arsenal of ideas – or sit on your arses and post messages in here.

  14. Jose Says:

I have said it before and will continue to say it until we grasp it and do something about it. WE the INDIGENOUS people need to TAKE CONTROL of OUR COUNTRY. WE need to RID OURSELVES of this ALIEN INVASION into what WE HOLD DEAR and SACRED. We are a CHRISTIAN nation and a CHRISTIAN people. God instructed HIS people “DO NOT LET ANYONE WHO IS NOT A BROTHER RULE OVER YOU”. Isn’t there wisdom in these WORDS? Look what has been happening in Fiji since we allowed alien rule even through the colonial days and still now. What has happened MUST NEVER happen again. We can ensure that by FIJIAN DOMINATION in OUR OWN COUNTRY. Someone had said “JERUSALEM FIRST”. Then that’s exactly what we do. The aliens don’t like it, hey, go to haryana or culcutta, bangladeshi or europe and america, who cares just get the hell out of our contry and leave us to decide how we want to live and what we want to do with what we own.

  15. tosotiko Says:

I agree with you Jose. So the gunuti draunimoli was to blackmail the leaders of the SDL and the Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma.

Instead of extending an olive branch, Vore was extending a gun to their heads. ‘Do this or Else’. This is a well known tactic used to Fijians.
Do something dangerous and sinister under an innocent cover of charm and seemingly ‘good intentions’ so that when the Fijians react truthfully, they are instantly branded as unaccomodating, unloving etc.

  16. Budhau Says:

“Do something dangerous and sinister under an innocent cover of charm and seemingly ‘good intentions’ so that when the Fijians react truthfully, they are instantly branded as unaccomodating, unloving etc.”

That sound exactly how the Fijian chiefs have been screwing the common man – and occasionally when he complaints – they blame him about improper upbringing.

  17. Jose Says:

That is just exactly how the bhudau would think. No one else , just the bhudau. It’s all in his head. Have a good day.

  18. Jose Says:

Everything happens in their own good time and its own good season. Its time now for Indeginous Fijians to rule in their own land. We have matured and are now educated. The best, is still yet to come. To name one in particular. PENI SIKIVOU. Now here is a true son of Fiji. BULA VITI.

  19. Budhau Says:

Jose – you idiot – the indigenous have ruled their own land from independence till – with a a few minor breaks.

The only reason the indigenous did not rule their own land prior to independence is because your benevolent chiefs had decided to sell you country to the British.

What do you mean when you say “we have matured and are now educated” – that is insulting the Fijians. Don’t your think your people were always capable of governing themselves – or the the right to self rule can only come with “maturity and education”.

As for good new leaders – good for you go find some that are not thieves and who have the interest of the country and the people at heart – being a chief or commoner is irrelevant.

..so Jose, don’t insult the Fijians by saying things like now “we can govern ourselves because we are mature and educated.”

  20. Mark Manning Says:

The root of problems in Fiji and the excuses for coups , ad infinitum , seem to stem from 2 main differences .
    I believe that they are
1/ Native Fijians are determined to keep their land , for Native Fijians .
2/ There are generations of Indo Fijians , born in Fiji and citizens of Fiji , who are dispossessed , inadvertently because of the Native Fijians stand regarding the land .
I don’t know how or if these issues can be resolved , or even if they should , but I can see that this will continue to dog Fijian Society until it’s sorted out to every Fijian Citizens satisfaction .
People of authority and wealth , will continue to use this problem as an excuse to disrupt Fijian Society unless it’s sorted amicably .
It creates the situation , where , despite International views , your society , in it’s Constitution , will have to divide the Community on ethnic grounds . By that I mean , land for Native Fijians only !
But where does that leave the Indo Fijians , who , whether you like it or not , in my eyes at least , are Fijians ?
If it’s decided yet again , that only Native Fijians can own land in Fiji , is that consequently , discriminating against the other 400,000 in your Community . By giving up your land , are you committing voluntary genocide of the native Fijians .
It’s a difficult problem . As the Indo Fijians , despite claims by some on this and other sites , are not Indians , but Fijians .
Eddy Marbo caused great concern in Australia when he bravely fought alone , on land rights issues . The Australian population thought that we would be kicked out or paying rent to the Aboriginal Community who might claim all the capital cities in their land rights claims .
But our fear was unfounded and common-sense prevailed .
I hope Fiji founds a solution to it’s problems , the final step might be to rid itself of it’s incompetent military , at least for 20 years , if not completely .

  21. Mark Manning Says:

No disrespect to Loyal Soldiers and Sailors of current and passed service .

  22. Budhau Says:

Hey Manning – has an Indian ever taken an inch of the Native land – and how can he – there are entrenched laws that require two thirds vote in parliament to change any of these laws.

The Fijians make almost 60% of the population, they own 83% of the land, the military is 98% indigenous, the GCC appoints the President and VP, the GCC appoints senators to hold the balance of power in the senate. And Fijians have held political power for most of the last 30 years.

So how can the Indians screw up the Fijian with their land. They said the same thing when Chaudary became PM – that somehow with all these safeguard and checks and balances, that Chaudary was going to take away the Fijian land. They were singing the same tune then that they are singing now.

All the Indian tenant has ever said was they they wanted a more secure tenancy of agricultural land – with leases that are longer term.

This ain’t about the land – this is politics – this is about keeping the Fijian grassroots folks scared of the Indian threat – because if you don’t keep them scared shi*tless – they might turn around and vote for the guy who may end up doing some good for them and the country.

This ain’t about land – this has always been about political power, the Indian bogeyman. The land issue should never have bee politicized.

  23. soro Says:

Sa levu ga na hot air me vaka na aint kei na hey. Kau mai na meke wesi ! Yee haaa !

  24. Mark Manning Says:

    Budhau
I know land ownership is a delicate topic in Fiji and i personally don’t have an opinion one way or the other , because i have to admit , I don’t live there and don’t really have the right to force my will on that society consequently .
I’m simply suggesting that maybe as time moves forward , so should society . Perhaps it’s time to take a fresh look at just how Fiji society runs and improve on it . I certainly don’t support any coup , but yes , good governance by a Democratically elected Government , seems the best way to go .
Would extended lease really make a difference ? I don’t think that’s the answer as the sugar industry , worldwide has been declining for over 30 years . Perhaps Native Fijians and Indo Fijians should be looking at partnerships regarding agricultural crops etc.
I agree with you though and it’s my point too , that the land issues have been politicised , that’s why those in authority and in positions of wealth , can continue to exploit those issues to their advantage . It’s only a handful , who have now exposed themselves , who are causing all the trouble .
I think all their assets and their families assets , should be confiscated and sold once they have been processed through the Courts , as well as being jailed for a very very long time . It’s just not fair to the rest of the Fijian society , Native Fijian and Indo Fijian , who have lost so much because of their selfish self serving behaviour .

  25. aubatinuku-N Says:

The BIG question one should ask is: Whats in it for the Indian Government?

  26. Mark Manning Says:

    Resources and land !

  27. Mark Manning Says:

Traditionally , what is the Indians attitude toward land ownership ?
Isn’t it almost sacred to them as it gets handed down from male to male in each generation and divided time and time again between brothers etc. and isn’t there a scarcity of land in India now ?
