The Great Minds of History vs. the small minds of the regime (Pt.2)

Paramount among the responsibilities of a free press is the duty to prevent any part of the Government from deceiving the people… Only a free and unrestrained press can effectively expose deception in Government.” ~Hugo Black, Supreme Court Justice (take note FBCL specifically, & Fiji Media more generally! Look what happened to the journos at Rishikul after journos failed to stand up for the rights of Ballu Khan and the other “assassination plot” frame-up victims earlier!)

“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie: deliberate, continued, and dishonest; but the myth: persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.” ~John F. Kennedy (Eg. Endemic SDL corruption, RTU coup amnesties, Alleged threat of economic “bankruptcy” under ousted Government, “Rigged” 2006 Election…)

“May we never confuse honest dissent with disloyal subversion.” ~Dwight D. Eisenhower (take note Military Intelligence Units, Police Tactical Response Unit)

“A patriot must always be ready to defend his country against his Government.” ~Edward Abbey (take note All Fiji Citizens!)

“Be loyal to your country always, and to the Government only when it deserves it!” ~Mark Twain (take note All Fiji Citizens!)

“It is not the function of Government to keep the citizen from error – it is the function of the citizen to keep the Government from falling into error.” ~Justice Robert Jackson (take note Military HQ Intelligence Unit, 3FIR Intelligence Unit, Aiyaz Khaiyum, Interim Government!)

“Why, the Government is merely…a temporary servant…its function is to obey orders, not originate them.” ~Mark Twain (take note Interim Cabinet, Military Council, President’s Office & NCBBF!)

“You’re not supposed to be so blind with patriotism that you can’t face reality. Wrong is wrong no matter who does it or who says it.” ~Malcolm X (take note RFMF, FLP supporters!)

“Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.” ~William Penn (take note FLP, SDL/CAMV, NCBBF and People Of Fiji!)

“Those who make peaceful transformation impossible will make violent revolution inevitable!” ~John F. Kennedy (take note Military Council, RFMF, Interim Cabinet, President’s Office!)

“We must realize that no arsenal, or no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.” ~Ronald Reagan (take note Military Council, Interim Cabinet, President’s Office & RFMF! and be encouraged Coup Opponents!)

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” ~Margaret Mead (keep it up Bloggers, And Coup Opponents!)

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” ~Martin Luther King, Jnr. (take note Judiciary, Magistracy, President’s Office, Lawyers, NGOs, SDL, Fijian, Indian & “Moderate” Political Leaders,…)

“I long to accomplish great and noble tasks, but it is my chief duty to accomplish humble tasks as though they were great and noble. The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of the tiny pushes of each honest worker.” Helen Keller (keep going Coup Opponents!)

“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On!’ has solved, and always will solve, the problems of the human race.” J. Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States of America (keep going Coup Opponents!)

“Tabu Soro!” Fijian War Cry (keep going Bloggers & Coup Opponents!)

“Never give in! Never give in! Never, never, never, never–in nothing, great or small, large or petty–never give in, except to convictions of honor and good sense! Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy… (for us during the War) there was no flinching and no thought of giving in; and by what seemed almost a miracle to those outside these Islands, though we ourselves never doubted it, we now find ourselves in a position where I say that we can be sure that we have only to persevere to conquer… (So) do not let us speak of darker days: let us speak rather of sterner days. These are not dark days; these are great days–the greatest days our country has ever lived; and we must all thank God that we have been allowed, each of us according to our stations, to play a part in making these days memorable in the history of our race.” Winston Churchill (take note Coup Opponents!)

“But I tell you: love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you!” ~Jesus Of Nazareth (take note Coup Opponents!)

So it would seem from the familiarity and applicability of these comments and quotes, that Fiji’s situation is not in fact as unique or as subtly complex as the regime and the military would like us to believe. On the contrary, it seems as if Fiji’s so-called “deeper issues” are not as important as the rather more straight-forward and obvious problems that other nations have already experienced and learned from many times. Simple human failings such as self-interest, deviousness, bad faith, hunger for power, corruption from power, opportunism, ignorance, lack of understanding and experience and expertise and principle. Rather than “outside the box” thinking, all that is really needed to deal with these problems are simple things like respect for the rule of law and others’ views, ethics (dodonu, dina, savasava), experience, understanding wisdom and patience. So instead of worrying whether other people can “think outside the box” on Fiji’s problems, the regime would be better off worrying about itself and whether it can acquire enough of these basic leadership qualities. Because that will be the real determinant of whether Fiji will be able to “move forward” out of their self-inflicted crisis or not?

    Great quotes!

The latest announcement that Bhaini Marama has appointed himself as the Chairman of the GCC is the confirmation that the people of Fiji have been waiting for that this man is mentally not all there.

The wannabe Committee which comprised of Chiefs who thought that they knew best by joining this illegal Govt entity now know that all their work had been in vain. The appointment went against their recommendation that neither the president, PM or Vice Pres can be a member of the GCC to keep it free of political influence. Well they have been made to eat their words.

Bhaini is power crazy and will never stop now to declaring himself the King of Fiji. He will appoint himself to all the important positions. Reminds me of Idi Amin in Uganda.

The Chiefs who have joined this illegal regime had better explain to the grassroot Fijians this most surprising development in the GCC. And to cap it off, the Chairman of the GCC will appoint all the members of the GCC. The question should be asked-was this the reason why Eveli Ganilau left the Ministry of Fijian Affairs to give this unbalanced Dicktaker the chance to wreak havoc on the GCC?

Isn’t this dictatorship of the highest order in this Fijian institution? I fear that Fijians are doomed to nothing with this very critical decision by this unelected Dicktaker!

  2. Lau Lass Says:

We are certainly witnessing the rule of a DICTATOR!!! May GOD BLESS Fiji & the Fijian race!!!

  3. Tobo Says:

Hear hear ! As Tupou Draunidalo said in her letter a couple of weeks ago in the papers – THERE ARE NO “DEEPER” ISSUES” – warai Bhai wanting to be “mystical” se cava ?

A coup is a coup is a coup. And it is illegal and wrong. It stamps on everything that is moral and right. The people voted the SDL in and they had spoken. Who does the military think they are thinking that THEY think they know best ?

People its time we turned our backs on everything these illegal dicktators do from now on!

  4. Tui Says:

So now the world can see that we have a raving mad lunatic pretending to be PM, Minister for Fijian Affairs, Commander, Chairman GCC and Chairman of Peoples Charter. All is left is for him to declare himself Emperor of Fiji! Wake up Fiji! Yadra mai Viti! Please Australia and New Zealand, intervene now before there is a mass uprising by Fijians and more innocent blood is shed! If you were listening to Viti FM yesterday, you could tell that 90% of Fijians are against the illegal charter and one of the three guests admitted on Radio that if the charter fails, there will not be an election! There is your proof people. What is the international community doing? These terrorist IG is beginning to show it’s true colors. It does not believe in the rule of law. The IG does not practice what it preaches. The IG is surely doing it’s best to break the sprit of the Fijian people.
To the international community please note, if there will be mass murder in Fiji, do not be surprised and do not blame the Fijian people. We have been pushed to the edge of the cliff. We have suffered for too long and we have endured. But we will strike back, mark my words!

Wake up QEB don;t sleep, more than enough damage has been done. Pls save our beloved fiji.

Pig waraka nomu gauna o na kana co me vaka na tui papiloni.

  6. natewaprince Says:

Good point MaL,with the bi-polar big assed pig at the helm of the new look illegal GCC, he might as well appoint his regime and other yes men to be members of the GCC.

And just on the news now,the first person to be concerned about the pigs self appointment is none other than the $ 2 man, blerry namu levu.

Also on the news is Krishna Dutt asking questions about the tax evading dog and how he has accumulated so much money in overseas bank accounts.

Also Ro Temumu Kepa saying that there is collusion between Lasa i Tuba Langman and the apple polishing idiot head of FIRCA in refusing to investigate Maka Chodo despite the daily articles in the press about his tax evasion.

  7. natewaprince Says:

In todays Sun,unionist Taniela Tabu is threatening to publicly name the tax evaders name.

    Sa malo tovata.

Way its going..it seems Chaudhary will not stop at anything to fullfill his mission (with the support & blessings of the Indian government and GOPIO and other secretive people ofcourse..)no matter what Fijians say (.Remeber he said from the start that they will be in for a long time???…It seems to be going that way). He has got everything his way so far…he has got into government by whatever means necessary, he has got all the Fijian people out of the stratgeic positions in the civil service including the IG cabinet, He has got all his people in strategic places in and outside government, he has dismantled all strategic Fijian businesses, he has messed around wilth Fijian institutions usinfg the Fijian people, he has got the GCC the way he wanted it with Voreqe(meaning Chaudhary)as Chair..He has got it all thus far… SO, soon itll be say good bye to all our Fijianness including our land and our country. Next move would most probably be to make Voreqe combine the functions of the PM office with that of the President and Chodo will pull the strings from behind ofcourse. He(chodo by virtue of Voreqe being there..) becomes the commander in Chief of the armed forces as well. FINITO.Well he has done everything else ..why can\’t he do this when the President gusuva boto passes on… Fiji will be at the mercy of an Indian nationalists and GOPIO than. The military council is really nothing more than a bunch of shitheads who cannot do anything because they have swallowed the forbidden fruit from chaudhary & CO…and the military of course are his tea boys and drivers & body guards. They will fight only for him (their paymaster). Dangeoruys times ahead people.

  11. Mark Manning Says:

Isn’t it time to take Frank and his immediate subordinates out and arrest Chaudhry . All you need is the elected Cabinet to vote and advise the elected P M so that it’s all legal !

  12. tiko 'ece vei 'oya Says:

Reminds me of that song about Idi Amin. The words go like this:
‘Idi Idi Idi Amin….Most amazing man that ever lived…..He’s the General, the President, the King of the Sea….Idi Idi Idi Amin.

Well what other proof do we need? This man is a Dictator.

  13. Pusiloa Says:

I quote from the Fiji Time: “As chairman, Commodore Bainimarama will appoint members that make up 52 members of the council who have been traditional installed and recorded as such in the register of Native Landowners administered by the Native Lands Commission.”

I’m waiting to see if Rt Naiqama Lalabalavu will be appointed.

  14. Lau Lass Says:

If they’re going to vote & follow the legal path, the PIG & his supporters are going to arrest them & lock them up & come up with all kinds of bullshit charges….. JUST DROP A BOMB AT RFMF & GOVT HOUSE!!! I’m prepared to die to save my country !!!

  15. Pusiloa Says:

This man is not a dictator but a “Dick-taker”

  16. Peace Pipe Says:

The dicktaker has shown us his propensity to do anything he wants without due regards to its ramifications since he tends to think that he is above the rule of law and out of reach of any repercussions. He has made his bed so he will have to sleep in it. It just shows the strings being pulled on him to carry out all these ludicrous actions any normal person wouldn’t do. mai chodo dont care about Fijian honor or protocol so it vaka veitalia so long as they rope in all the important positions.

  17. ex Fiji Tourist Says:

Another military nut case from history also had a big opinion of himself; Napoleon Boneparte.

Napoleon thought that he was so great that, as he was being crowned Emperor, he took the crown from the stunned bishop and then placed it on his own head.

bananasinpyjamas will soon appoint himself emperor of Fiji if he keeps on appointing himself to roles.

BTW, what a shame that he doesn’t sit back and reflect on the mess he has created in all his other roles:-

the military is a shame that could not help the citizens after a cyclone

as illegal PM, the country is quickly going backwards

    etc

Let’s hope that the doctors at the Indian hospital have a little accident during his surgery there today.

  18. Fiji Democracy Now Says:

Like most people in Fiji, the Great Council of Chiefs were opposed to the military
coup launched by Voreqe Bainimarama on 5 December 2006. The GCC and the
dictator have been at loggerheads ever since. So what do you do? As the old
saying goes, if you cannot beat them -join them.

The crass ineptness of Bainimarama’s illegal stewardship of Fiji over the past 14
months should alert everyone to the strategy behind the dictator’s decision to
appoint himself head of the GCC. He wants to run the GCC into the ground just
like he is running the nation into the ground!

This man, who used armed force to seize power and overthrow a democratically
elected government, appointed himself President for a brief period and then
appointed himself “interim prime minister” just cannot help himself.

But no matter how many hats he wants to wear, how many self-appointments he
chooses to make or how many titles he wants to use, he will never get it right
when it comes to serving his nation and the people.

The only way he could do that is to return to barracks and allow our beloved
country to return, as quickly as possible, to being a parliamentary democracy.

  19. BulaBula Says:

tiko ‘ece vei’ oya I like what you said. He is the lyrics to the song “Amazin’ Man”

    Idi idi idi Amin
Most amazing man there’s ever been
He de General, de President, de King of de Scene
    Idi idi idi Amin

Look at history, it packed with men
What rising to de top & getting chopped again
No one handed dem de secret of de whole damn thing
You gotta give de population something to sing

    Take Hilter, Stalin, Attila Nun
No-one got a good word for a single one
Where those first class geniuses all going wrong
They never got the population singing along

Isa, when I read the lyrics I was filled with mix emotions but it gave me hope. Chodo & Bai’s time will come!

This is a good one to email to those of us that are still in doubt about what is happening in Fiji.

Someone told me once never to give up hope because that is what gives us the strength to carry on no matter the odds.

  20. kaiwai Says:

Pusiloa dick taker or dicksucker. I call on all cihiefs of Fiji pls DO NOT accept any invitation from the pig. Remember he was the one that said that GCC to meet under a mando tree with a bucket of home brew. Na turaga dina sa mai vua na Kalou. Na Kalou ena sega ni totaka na cakacaka vakabutobuto.

  21. sotia dina Says:

  23. anon Says:

  24. peacemaker Says:

    ..

  25. Mark Manning Says:

Well I think it’s time to find out just who in the Police and military are prepared to stand up for their rights and freedom ! who is prepared to risk his life for his children and grandchildren’s sake ! Remember Frank , Chaudhry and all in the Ig are cowards , once one has been arrested and detained , the rest with just run into the jungle !

  26. Taxwatcher Says:

I am sure all the IG ministers also have skeltons in their cupboards and that is why they agreed to have their files hidden in the deep faults, along with Mahends – there is no honour among thieves

  27. tosotiko Says:

Thank you sv for posting these great quotes from these great minds. They keep us inspired and we are quietly confident that the end is nigh.
