Solivakasama dropped a bombshell with the story by the blogger “Cassandra”about the forward estimates funding for running Parliament. If the funds are not in the budget now for the running of Parliament in 2009, doesn’t this cast doubts on the sincerity of the promise to hold elections?
Well yes it does, but much more doubt is cast by the fact that the same document shows no funds, YES, NO FUNDS, FOR THE ELECTIONS IN 2009.
Go to page 72 of the forward estimates document:
Look under Head No 10 ELECTIONS OFFICE – expenditure item 10-1-1.
This shows the following facts:
Actual expenditure in 2006 was $25.601 million ($28.6624 million with VAT)
Estimates expenditure for 2007 total was $707,500.
Funds for 2008 are $4.12411 million, which includes $3.35 million for “Voter Registration Exercise and $150,000 for Constituency Boundaries Commission work plus VAT. (See page 73).
Funds for 2009 are only $303,600. This is barely enough to keep the Elections Office in mothballs.
So it looks like Mahendra Chaudhry is not planning any elections for 2009. What’s wrong with the Fiji Times and the other newspapers? Why don’t they ask Mahendra Chaudhry to explain why the forward estimates do not include funds for the election.
CORRUPTION FIGHTER

So why are Chaudhry and Frank still walking the streets of Fiji ?

The cunningness of mai chodo pi$$ seem to have no bounds. He is a very devious snake who schemes at every opportunity and is very unscrupulous. He deliberately left out the allocation for 2009 elections so that he can take our neighboring countries to task in fulfilling their words in assisting Fiji return to the polls so that he will get them to bear the full cost of the elections. Isnt this a very cunning and devious plan. Like I said this snake has no ethic at all. These are actions only scums will take. Its like “you pay for the elections or else no elections”
February 19, 2008 at 8:45 pm
Chodo is working in concert with the other rats – the rfmf rats, the penniless no money rats in the IG cabinet and the hangers on like nawalowalo, ralogaivau, tuakitau, kurusiga, burness, rouse, yabaki who all feed off the IG vodovata, kanavata bus. They all dont want elections… for as long as possible. Too bad the ship is leaking and sinking.
According to these lawakica schemers, elections will depend on :
* funding from internationl community,
* the charter being accepted by referendum (if we dont vote for the referendum, we wont get elections coz we dont know whats best for ourselves)
* acceptance of the new incoming president bainicici and his vp (probably one of the 2 desperado epelis)
* acceptance of the status quo in the various departments and statutory body boards that the IG put in place
* acceptance of all the boicici promulgations signed by joe mirror for foreqe (who remains president in effect since he took over on 5 dec 2006 – mirror has just been keeping the seat warm for foreqe – although a bit smelly and pissy that seat is)
*acceptance of the unmeritorious appointments made to the judiciary by that arse wipe and shamimis
*acceptance of the new formula on land rentals, the new GCC
* and above all, of the place the rfmf will hold forever as the guardian of truth, justice and foreqes way
Since nothing is likely to happen to stop the foreqe’s revolution now taking place, fiji will limp and crawl along for a while, stew in its own shit like zimbabwe.
And the revolution to redraw native land use, indigenous and national leadership and governance DEPENDS on our SILENCE and ACQUIESCENCE.
THAT is the peaceful transition that foreqe has been talking about since 5/12 – lie down like an unconcious grog doped discombombulated nutter and submit to major surgery!!
Yet we seem to be taken by surprise at every turn. The regime presses all the right buttons. There is righteous indignation every now and then – witness the various indignities that the IG has inflicted, yet we continue to suffer in SILENCE. The tide is turning when even IG supporters like Nadi FLP President and Sukdevshah begin to question the cleanup. But this seems to draw the traditional FLP/RFMF support base back when there is intense criticism, usually when they quite support the measure – eg FB as GCC Chairman.
And then after this latest move by the IG, the usual outcry… then back to normal?

I’m of the understanding that Mr Qarase wanted to get out of Suva at the beginning of the coup because he thought there was going to be a bloodbath from his supporters had he remained . I believe that there has been no action from the Fijians , not because they are fearful of Frank and his goons , but because they don’t want to see killings of their relatives again , like in 2000 . However , at some point , action of some kind will have to take place . Even the Jews say now , never never again and that is why they fight for their freedom and the right to maintain it ! Look at what they did to Lebanon and Hezbolla the last time they attacked from Lebanon wioth Syrias backing . Make no mistake , your freedom is worth fighting for and if your brother takes the wrong side , then on his head be it .

Could there be a simpler explanation for the 2009 budget and the amount allocated for the election.
I think that the regime is expecting a third country, such as Australia, to step in and foot the bill for the elections.
There has been some mention of this in the media and this is the type of thing that Australia and NZ would like to help with.
Mark Manning – Qarase was forced out of Suva by the military regime. One of the reasons Mr Qarase gave was the he did not want his supporters to assemble in large numbers at his house. This would give the military some justification to come down hard on those assembled which may have led to the SDL supporters getting hurt.
…as for the action by the Fijians, if there is any violence, that would only lead to more violence. Which the Indians would suffer some, this would become a Fijian on Fijian violence. If things get too bad, majority of the non-Fijian population would move out, and we Fijians would then end up settling scores for the next several generations.
Look at other parts of the world – once violence starts, there is no end to it.
This is not a Indian-Fijian struggle. This is a Fijian/Fijian struggle for power and I think things can be resolved without widespread violence.
Dui mate ga e nona ucu ni vatu.
I think this is from the proverb of Ra Belo maintaining that each of us protects what’s ours unto death.
Guess what, both sides would end protecting what they believe is theirs – unto death.
February 20, 2008 at 10:10 am
Exactly what I meant , so Qarase was wise to leave so as to protect everyone from the possibility of unnecessary violence . A very wise man indeed , unlike frank ! And i don’t believe the Military made Qarase go , I believe it was his own choice , but the Army would have us believe that Qarase was a coward and left , i think he was a wise man and left of his own accord , for the right reason , to prevent bloodshed . And i get the point about old scores , let’s hope you guys come into the 21st. century with your thinking , the rest of the world is catching on !

Another bombshell indeed! But apparently a bombshell that was well out of
earshot of Fiji’s so-called mainstream media.
We completely agree with Cofrruption Fighter that something is sadly amiss when
the media in Suva don’t do what they are paid to do – and ask the CHODOPU$$ a
couple of simple questions as to why his 2008 Budget forward estimates do not
include any provision for an election in 2009, or in 2010 for that matter.
After all, if the illegal interim prime minister says there’s going to be an election
next year you would think the illegal interim finance minister would be prudent
enough to anticipate that event in his forward estimates.
Is the illegal interim government so dysfunctional that it can’t even get it right at
the most basic of levels? Or, as Cassandra speculated, is the real issue here all
about who’s in charge?
Is it actually the case, as so many bloggers have speculated, that Bainimarama is
the puppet of the CHODOPU$$, and it’s the CHODOPU$$ who is setting the real
agenda? It’s sure looking that way.
Does all this man the much vaunted “clean up campaign” a lot of hot air to
provide a convenient smokescreen for the CHODOPU$$ to roll out his agenda?
These are important matters for the ordinary people of Fiji, particularly those
without access to computers and the Internet. It’s their right to know.
Perhaps Solivakasama should email Fiji’s media with the links to the articles by
Corruption Fighter and Cassandra, but especially the one by Corruption Fighter
because it carries a copy of the CHODOPL^’s own document.
We know it’s spoon-feeding journalists, but if they can’t spot a real news story
when it stands up in their basin of grog and winks at them, what else is one to do?

The military have failed in Thailand and a democratic government has been installed. The military junta has apologized to the people of Thailand for the misery it has caused them.
The military have failed in Pakistan and a democratic government has been elected. The silly dictator is still clinging desperately to power as President.
The military have failed big time in Burma and have set the country back 30 years. 1000 of their boot lickers have drawn up a “new constitution”. No one , other than themselves asked for this to happen. It is an attempt to install their power base for ever.
The military/ police in Zimbabwe have managed to help the dictator completely ruin the country; they have turned it from a food-bowl into a dust-bowl.
Meanwhile, back in Fiji, the deranged dictator and his green goons are told what to do by chaudhry, the convicted felon. As he lies in his Indian hospital bed, the fool must realize that he has been conned by chaudhry, the tax cheat.

Look here of course we are an independent body.. But our salary is from the goverment not NGO’s funds or overseas funds..We can’t investigate any deep case due to approval only from our Pm n Finance minister. They are in charge of the country..If you require anycase then call them up.. We go only with the case given to us from them end of the line..
February 20, 2008 at 12:28 pm
FICAC you manupusi … the wages for your illegal work are NOT from the govt you moron – we the taxpayers are forking out for you to go on wild goose chases and personal vendettas dictated to you by the other bigger moron’s than yourselves. You are nothing but all mouth and no trousers you bleary waste of time and energy.
February 20, 2008 at 10:31 pm
the writing is on the wall for the interim govt and Bainimarama, if results of the Pakistani elections are an indication!!! overwhelming rejection of Musharraf!!!!
February 21, 2008 at 11:04 am
Nice try Budhau, but your attempt to act as an apologist for the
regime is again defeated by facts. The budget papers show aid-in-
kind where this is appropriate. If the Government is hoping for cash
grants from foreign donors which can be used to pay the normal
wages and allowances of civil servants, this should be shown in the
expenditure figures, with the input of funds included in the revenue
side. It looks like the arrogant Chodopu$$ thought he could get away
with it. And it also looks like the media in Fiji are letting him get away
without any explanation.
February 21, 2008 at 11:53 am
Why do we need another election when the Interim Government is doing a
better job than any previous government. Let’s not waste any money on elections but divert that to the Sugar Industry.
February 21, 2008 at 5:20 pm
You mean divert the money into Chodo’s pocket. up yrs and the sugar industry!
February 21, 2008 at 5:37 pm
Praveen:
No problem. When we take over, you can kiss sugar industry googbye…
February 21, 2008 at 9:57 pm
The sugar industry is up praveen chaudry’s bum hole…say goodnight to sugar babe…tourism is what keeps fiji ticking…no more sweeet in the sugar, honey…kiss my sweet ass

What a waste of our hard earned money!! us the the taxpayers Langman! Stop the wild goose chase and investigate the MOTHERFUCKER TAX EVADER MAHENDRA PAL CHAUDRY – remember him,? he was the one who had that thing going with the indian journo….and the tea lady was fired cos she saw too much!!!!!
