Come Clean Mahendra Chaudary!!

By solivakasama

The Ousted Prime Minister is now calling on the authorities to investigate the senior interim minister who allegedly evaded taxes over a number of years.

Laisenia Qarase said so much has been said but it seems the interim government and Fiji Islands Revenue and Customs Authority does not want to take any decisive action.

Qarase questions whether necessary action will be taken.

Transparency International in Fiji is also calling on the Interim Prime Minister to take urgent action to ensure the tax evasion allegations against a certain interim minister is fully investigated.

Transparency International Chairman, Hari Pal Singh said the allegations have existed for months and the relevant interim minister should resign to allow for the investigations to be held without any interference.

Good on them for keeping up the pressure!! MPC, don’t throw stones when you live in a glass house!!

mai chodo has just press the trigger that will detonate the bomb he is sitting on. He has just ordered the de reservation of Fijian reserve land which is the sacred domain of the Fijians. It is an act of desecration that must not see the light of day. He is so thick he cannot learn from past mistakes and is now stepping into forbidden zone. This is the catalyst to make the move to oust this evil monster once and for all. He has to go. No two ways about it. Vore and his wicked team will nothing without him.

That is a hard one asking Choro to come clean, it is like asking Satan not to sin

Chodo is the lynchpin of the Regime’s hold on power, so that is where the focus of political opposition to the coup needs to aim. The Regime isn’t desperate for Chodo’s Ministerial skills and abilities, as we can see from the poor performance of the economy and Sugar under his guidance! What it needs is his (and the FLP’s) political kudos amongst grassroots Indo-Fijians. Because once the Regime loses the support of Indo-Fijians, it will be isolated, and under real threat.

But as the comments for the immediate past President of the FLP’s Nadi branch, Mahen’s and FLP’s political support amongst Indo-Fijians is not inexhaustible. There are already doubts! And Agni Deo Singh’s threats late last year to bring down the Regime if there was a further cut in civil service wages this year, also shows that patience is already running thin! So if that’s where things are heading already, where will they be at the end of another year of economic hardship? Indo-Fijian loyalty to the FLP is still strong, but don’t mess with their paisa man! Despite his best efforts, Mahen is squandering Fiji’s paisa, and the consequences of that are being felt by FLP supporters just like everyone else! And so with more economic pain due for his power base from the likely further delay of EU Sugar restructure funds, and further Sugar downturn, where might the “tipping point” of FLP-desertion lie?

Make no mistake, the FLP is losing support not gaining it! The only question is “How much and how fast?” They will still be the major Indian party at the next elections, but then again the SVT was the most popular Fijian party after the 1999 elections – and what did that mean?

So kudos to the Regime’s enemies for continuing to target Mahen – he is still the key to dislodging the Regime’s Indian support. And he is open to attack on multiple fronts and grounds!

    Proposal to de-reserve native land
    12 Feb 2008 01:02:25

The interim government is considering a proposal to de-reserve native land in order to revamp the ailing sugar industry.

This is one of the major recommendations in a report that was handed to the interim sugar minister Mahendra Chaudhry in November last year.

The report – prepared by a consultancy firm in India – is now being circulated amongst stakeholders for discussion.

The report is titled the rehabilitation of the Fijian Sugar Industry, development of by products and improvements of the standard of living for the farmers…

It was prepared by India based Sugarcane Production Research and Management Services…

    The author is a Doctor M Krishnamurthi…

He submitted this proposal to the interim Minister for Finance on 27th November last year….

In order to revamp the sugar industry – the author has some recommended actions – these are in regards to realignment of land…

The first major step will be to de-reserve all native lands adding it is obvious that the 4 hectare farms are uneconomical…

    The report than elaborates…

Lots of 40 to 400 hectare are to be created and leased to one individual or company without affecting land ownership adding the ownership will continue to be vested in the title holder…

The report says all investments will be by the lessee…

The lease period can be to a minimum of 75 years or more…

The report also gives a breakdown on how the profits maybe shared in a format acceptable to the landowner and cultivator…

The lessee may pay rental…the landowner may undertake share farming the lessee will create infrastructure and cultivate cane…the owners will be employed by the lessee on fortnightly basis and that the proceeds will be shared 30:60 after costs, 30 percent to the owner…

The report says these new ventures are to be financed by Bank or entrepreneurs…

Saying the same procedures can be applied to crown land subject to agreement by the tenant farmer…

The report says all farming on the large scale farms will have to mechanical and done in the most economical way…

  8. Edward Herman Says:

    THE LAND HAS EYES!!!!!!

The World’s population is 6,602,224,175 (July 2007 est. – the-world-fact book). Fijians number less than half a million at the most (on the entire planet). That approximates to a miniscule fraction of the World’s population – they are an endangered subspecies.

Race is an issue that is a fact of life and cannot be ignored.

Fijians have a right as an endangered people to not feel threatened and to have affirmative policies in place for their survival and betterment (this happens everywhere Maoris, Australian Aborigines, and American Indians). They have been lagging behind for eons, and it has only recently that the new kudos of educated and entrepreneurial ones had success; because they were given the opportunity. They need to help their fellow kind emulate their success. Those that have not been as successful yet, need not be envious of those that had made it, but through hard work and perseverance should reach their goal also. Other races in Fiji need to respect this and nurture this jewel of a race. They are precious and must be protected and supported.

Other races including descendents of Indian Indentured laborers, Melanesians, Polynesians, Europeans/part-Europeans, Chinese etc. who are here by decisions of their ancestors in search of a new home, or brought here by other devious means of their masters, need to feel a sense of identity and belonging and have opportunities available to them so they may also feel equal and accepted. This should not however be at the expense of the Fijians, who by their nature are an accommodating race.

The root of the problem lies in the human race, disastrous characteristics of greed, power, selfishness, jealousy, hatred, envy … an endless list.

Tolerance, understanding, and goodwill are paramount for the different races to live together. First and foremost, the Fijian culture and values must be adopted by all then within it one may practice their own subculture. That’s what gives one the right to call Fiji home.

This change in perception has to come from within not without, and certainly not by force.
Anything short of this will see the self destruction of a Nation.

Unfortunately the current administration is widening this divide to the point of no return, yet again by touching another sacred institution of native land, without proper consultations with the owners (who even amongst themselves have many unsettled conflicts).

We must remember “The land has eyes!”

  9. Veitiri Says:

    Herman:
The indians must go back to India or go to where their masters now reside in the UK. Come to think of it, UK has excepted Fiji’s HC because they are the root coz of this evil..chaudhary and kind. They shud be exported back to UK or India…together with the pests they brought with them (frogs, minha birds and mongoose). No matter what happens after this, they will go.

  10. yanu Says:

Breaking the news….is MPC feeling the heat now? I have been told to watch the coming days… MPC’s days numbered. Senior officers met last week to “strategise” on ways MPC would be given his coup de grace. Sa ratou qai yadra tu na yavu *****!

  11. Morgan of Fiji Says:

Well, the indians should wake up to the fact that Chaudhry collected close to $2 million under their name world wide and deposited the money in australian bank account. This is the same account from where he is getting $100,000 in interrest alone since 2002.

Now, according to Firca records, when he was question on failing to declare tax on these interrest income; he told FIRCA that he was keeping the money for the Indian trust. he fooled the indians of Fiji. They deserve it.

  12. Tui Says:

Hope that is true yanu. This chodopus is really try to stir the Fijian spirit of “ma’e na ma’e”! Well look at the arrogance of judge shameem yesterday. If you had any doubts about the judiciary being compromised, that was your proof people. The military council is well and truly running this nation. This nation need a drastic change for the better. No more Mr. Nice Guy!

  13. Chief Says:

Hey Yanu that maybe true. Just heard a rumour that an email was sent to Bainimarama for him to step down or otherwise he will be forcefully removed! Interesting to Watch!!

  14. Morgan of Fiji Says:

Chaudhry recently tried to cover up his sins by telling FijiTV that FIRCA records concerning this matter was false.

How can the records with receipts numbers of two lump sum payment chaudhry made to clear the tax arrears be false. Mind you, there is history of atleast 6 years in that assessment reports. These files were shown to NZ and Australian governments.
Australian Pm has refused to meet with you. Liar why dont you tell the people of Fiji what happen to your meeting with Mr Rudd???

  15. Maqa a Leqa Says:

The FIRCA CEO Tikolevu is also riding on mai Chodo’s bandwagon. Whilst he has strongly protected Mai Chodo’s tax evasion from being made available to the people, he had released an investigation report on the Duavata Initiative Limited tax commitments operated by the SDL Party.

Is this not double standards or what?

Mai Chodo’s influence is so strong that even Bhaini Marama is not aware that he is no longer in the driving seat. Chodo is now well in control!

  16. Woilei Says:

True Maqa a Leqa. Here’s a question for Solivakasama to pose .. how come this illegal Anti Corruption Unit is combing thru the SDL election fundraising only ? What about combing thru the other parties to make it fair ?

Any bets that this is blatant hatred of the SDL coming thru .

Now ask this of Parmesh and Aiyarsi and sicko Bainimarama – what is fair, transparent and good governance about this one-sided , skewwiffed operation huh ?

    Wankers all of them !

And what about yesterday the Kangaroo court of Appeal summoning ordinary citizens “to explain” when they are perfectly entitled to speak their mind.

What the hell is this country coming to ??

  17. natewaprince Says:

If the tax evading dog continues down this track long enough, the bi-polar pig just might wake up and realise that what the people are saying is true, that he is just a puppet like all the rest of the illegal IG.

And the chodopu$$ is using all his 8 tentacles to pull the strings behind the scenes.

But we all know that the pig is so blinded with the wealth Makachodo is shovelling his way that he’d probably scream ”Ouch!” before he realised that the tax evader was screwing him.

  18. Go for it! Says:

That’s true Woilei, that mafia queen nazhat shamimi was abusing her privileges as a judge by summoning Virisila Buadromo to explain what everyone knows as fair comment in regard to the sorry state of Fiji’s judiciary! Man, the two mimi sisters are a such joke amongst expatriates in this country, lol..!!

  19. Edward Herman Says:

    Veitiri

I respect your views, from the hurt you are feeling, and rest my case.

Fiji has perhaps reached the point of no return.

    God bless you.

  20. Enough is enough! Says:

Its high time the Fijians change the Constitution, change the citizenship laws
and de-register all Indians so their can join their long lost relatives in India!!!
MPC is so homesick for his folks back home.

  21. Budhau Says:

Why all this anti-Indian crap. First figure out what the problem is, only then can you even think about a solution.

While the Indian are part of the equation in this conflict, without trying to oversimplify this, this is a Fijian-Fijian conflict.
Ganilau/Nailatikau and the Gang want the power back in the hands of the the Mara clan, just like it was in the good old days. On the other side, the vanua crowd – that the Tailevu gang who want Seniloli as President and one of the the Cakobau sisters as the PM.

Ganilau/Nailatikau saw it fit to bring in Chaudary, because they thought Chaudary would be able to get them out of this bind because of his experience as a politician. Can’t blame them for that, even Qarase was thing of giving Chaudary the Finance portfolio when the SDL was up shit creek. Chaudary, at his age, probably thought that this would be his last hurrah, and being the opportunist that he is, he jumped in with the IG.

If you want to blame people for the coup, go find out who was behind the 1987 coup, the 2000 coup, and this last coup. Once you find that out, then go get rid of this chiefly system – therein lies the problem.

None of this Indians as the scapegoats. It is the Fijians who have been screwing Fijians through out history, the sooner you realize this, the better it will be for the country.

So let me get this right: Here we have this great Indian mastermind Chaudary who has got FB as his lapdog, and he whistles for his other two dogs, Ganilau and Nailatikau as needed. And then there is the little chihuahua Qarase, nibbling at Chaudary’s ankles without getting in a bite.

You see how insulting this sounds, giving credit to Chaudary.

So please stop insulting Fijians, lay the blame where it belongs. And yes, Chaudary is slimy sob who is capitalizing on this opportunity.

  22. sekonaia Says:

    From secs;
Now chodo ree has gone plus his left & right cheries as in Ricketts & Yeshnoi, his other illegal appointees to Boards should make way. Raging Bull Felix Anthony and Daniel Urai seems to be quite…why? After all they would not have been there uner normal conditions & times. They are all thiefs just like their mater chodo (Mahen the hen). Do you realise Chodo has removed highly decorated, proven achievers, highly educated Fijian CEO’s and executives and replace them with the nobody’s with less experience, no proven record of achievements etc etc BUT all “Kanaloto’s” e.g Aisake Taito FNPF CEO, Sereana Qoro, Peceli Vocea etc. Guess why, Chodo did this to prove his point. That Fijian weakness can be exposed and also blame them for misdeeds instead of his satanic doings. After all chodo is a cobra, a father of lies, muderer, thief you name it. His days in Naboro awits him, that will be where he will complete his finance degree after years of lying that he is the best man fro Finance. Now look at what he has done…mess our economy all right.
