State to Sell Off Radio Fiji

As reported by Fiji Times on line this morning.

Solivakasama says:

  1. This blerry bunch of ulukaus are again showing how desperate they are in seeking ways to generate revenue as the income stream dries up. First it was take over LTA income and incorporate budget back to Ministry of Transport, then recover $$$ from overpaid members of the lowest paid workers in Government – the unestablish, now its sell off one of the jewels in the State Owned Enterprise crowns
  2. Keep an eye out that these clowns don’t have a stake in one of the entities making a bid for FBCL. Yavala mada na spy, ragone!!
  3.  What’s going to happen to Radio Fiji 1 and Radio Fiji 2 radio stations? These two station serve a specific social obligation in terms of generating information to the general public particularly the rural areas and Radio School Programs and does not just serve the commercial needs of large companies like Bula FM, Radio Mirchi, and 2Day FM
  4.  Australia still have the ABC state owned. New Zealand has got Radio New Zealand and Britain has got the BBC all preserved and recognised as a government essential service to the public
  5. This government is just an illegal INTERIM Government, why are they behaving and sounding like elected governments that would have included this issues of national interest in an election manifesto to be voted on by the people
  6. If they want to sell of state assets, then get rid of the unprofitable ones like Food Processors Fiji Limited, Rewa Rice, PWD workshop, Government Suppliers etc.
  7. Or better still, get rid of the Military all together and establish 5 acres cassava farm lots and $10,000 garnts to re-settle the soldiers in unused ALTA cane fields. Fiji cannot even sustain its domestic cassava needs as proven by the need for Punja’s to import cassava from Indonesia to manufacture cassava chips. Even if we have surplus cassava, there is a ready market in China and Japan for cassava starch that the world’s largest producers such as Thailand, Indonesia, Philipines and Vietnam cannot sustain.
  8.  Sell the guns and weapons to countries like Tonga that wants to be macho and keep just 500 for a re-establish Police Rapid Response Team.

Jimi, na gauna oqo mo sa tekivu promote taki volitaki tavioka sara tikoga kina mai Jaina me yaga nomu lako!!!

anyone or every business person/entity whose interested in this sale better be very very careful….as this is an illegal n unconstitutional sale..

the court case between SDL & IG/RFMF should also bring to perpective all activities of this illegal regime.

vinaka vakalevu Solivakasama for picking this infor up. lets hope the media ppl do some investigative reporting with lead….

  2. natewaprince Says:

All these state owned entities are bringing revenue into govt coffers,or at least they are trying their damned hardest to be profitable.

If this regime wants to save over $m 60,then disband the army which is a major drain on the countrys finances.

I mean,do we need them?.Are they doing anything worthwhile for our country?.All they have done is distablise this country and have ruined the reputation of our fore fathers who have done the uniform proud.

What are they trying to prove by making major decisions that affect everyone?.It just reinforces our suspicions about the hidden agenda of this illegal junta.

If they don’t realise by now that they are not suited to run this country, then hurry up and bring the elections forward so that we can elect a govt of our choice.

The last thing we need is a bunch of free loaders bringing this country to economic ruin.

Racial Discrimination at PSC- Anger as the Fijian Teachers Association was deliberately locked out of Industrial Relation discussion on Civil Servant Wages:.
    FTA unhappy with PSC discussions
Fijian Teachers Association said it is unhappy with the way in which the Public Service Commission conducted discussion with two affiliates of the Confederation of the Public sector Unions this morning on the plight of all civil servants. Association General Secretary, Maika Namudu said they should have been included in the discussions as their members are also civil servants. Namudu adds that Interim Government has taken a very unfair stand by not backdating the remaining four percent pay cut for civil servants.

  4. Sky Pilot Says:

The key to Fiji’s future is precisely that.

Get rid of the RFMF. It is a disgrace to the country and a major economic drain. Not to mention the main cause of all Fiji’s problems over the past 20 years.

Boost the Police and give them the teeth to deal with crime effectively.

This might mean a Coast Guard which is really what we have right now so it will do the Navy good to get off their Ego boats and work for a living.

  5. ex Fiji Tourist Says:

    Well said sky pilot!

Plus add some discipline to the police by having a proper commissioner; not a fat toad.

  6. ulumaji Says:

lol exft….one that is focussed on the job (physically speaking!) not looking both ways!!!

  7. ex Fiji Tourist Says:

I hear that the illegal AG’s dad has gone to NZ.

It appears that NZ has relaxed the travel ban as dad has expressed a desire to get out of Fiji before his son and his looney maggots stuff it up big time.

  8. Adi Kaila Says:

I totally agree with you Sky Pilot –

Get rid of he fmf, burn down the arsenal & rent the quarters out to people who can afford to pay rent as housing is scarce in the near city areas.

  9. Kere Vakacegu Says:

How come is the AG’s Dad given a Visa to NZ and a Soccer player is not because his wife to be is a daughter of a Military Officer. Sa vaka e suspicious mai na ka oqo, could anyone ask the NZ Immigration what is goin on in here. Are they in secret talks with the IG.

  10. Tosotiko Says:

My thoughts exactly, Kere Vakacegu. I thought that NZ regarded all of them the same – the proffessional criminals who masterminded the Dec 5 fiasco and all the ‘merely following orders’ soldiers. To make it worse, the soccer player was not even married to the girl – they were still engaged at the time. So the military officer was only a prospective father-in-law.

So this means that the corrupt practices of the IG has reached into the NZ Embassy. Seems there is a mole in there. Since the iAG is related to the Sahu Khans then maybe this is a deal with Fiji Soccer not to protest too hard against future international matches scheduled in NZ. You never know with these people….
